Nonthaburi – A late-night brawl on a restaurant shuttle boat near Koh Kret ended in chaos when 10 teenagers attacked a lone passenger, causing the vessel to capsize in the Chao Phraya River. The attackers fled the scene, leaving no injuries or casualties reported.

At 11:30 pm on 1 December 2024, Por Teck Tung Foundation rescue volunteers responded to a report of a capsized taxi boat near the pier at Wat Sanam Nua in Pak Kret,

Nonthaburi. Upon arrival, they found the small boat partially submerged with its bow still visible above the water. A floating sign nearby indicated the vessel was authorised for 10 passengers. No injuries or missing persons were reported.

Initial inquiries revealed that the boat, owned by a popular restaurant on Koh Kret, was used to ferry customers between Pak Kret and the island.

The submerged boat was moved to clear the pier for other vessels, and plans to recover it are underway.

According to the boat operator, the incident occurred after he ferried 11 passengers; 10 in one group and another travelling alone—from Koh Kret to the pier. While the operator secured the boat to the pier, the group of 10 attacked the lone passenger.

The ensuing fight caused the boat to tilt and capsize. All passengers scrambled onto the pier before the boat sank, fleeing the scene.

Authorities are coordinating with the boat owner to retrieve the vessel, while the cause of the altercation remains unknown, reported Daily News.

Should have had a sign... No fighting.

Would have been just as effective as the 10 passenger one.

Real cowards too! 10 against one!

If I had been the lone person and was minding my own business it would not end good for 2-3 or 4 of the teens. That’s all I have to say.

Sound asleep?  You can notice from their upbringing that they failed in this task.

Why would  possibly 17-, 18,- 19-year olds need parents to accompany them at a not unusually late hour?
