A tense situation unfolded in Phuket's Saphan Hin area on Saturday night when Wichit police arrested a teenager after a confrontation involving illegal firearms. The incident led to the seizure of two unregistered guns and ammunition.

 

Around 10:20 PM on November 30, local officers were alerted to a disturbance caused by a group of teenagers near a dormitory on Soi 4, Moo 1, Wichit. When officers arrived, they found a noisy crowd gathered around a Honda HR-V parked nearby.

 

As soon as the police revealed their presence, chaos erupted with the youths fleeing in all directions. Amidst the disorder, police caught one teenager, while another suspect managed to throw away two modified firearms and ammunition before escaping.

 

 

The Honda HR-V driver also sped away successfully, leaving only one suspect in police custody. The arrested teen was taken to Wichit Police Station and now faces charges for "jointly possessing firearms and ammunition without permission" and "carrying firearms in a public area without justifiable reason."

 

Police have collected the abandoned weapons and ammunition as critical evidence, continuing their investigation to track down and apprehend the other suspects. As they press on with the search, Wichit police are committed to sending a clear message against illegal gun possession and its threat to community safety.
