Didn't realise we needed an invite to join the discussion .

I will refrain from stooping to your childish name calling but, you see, I have both Clarity and WISE cards and Google Pay so the subject was of interest to me and I thought I might learn whether these would be a viable option for future use.  Since you only use cash, the subject is of no relevence to you whatsoever; I wonder why you even clicked on the header, let alone posted multiple times on the thread - not once, by the way, with any bearing at all on whether any or all of the stores accept Google Pay.

Your reading and comprehension skills could do with some upgrading.

I did say I have Australian and Thai debit cards, and would be delighted to use them in a pay-wave system.

Cash will always be choice of payment.

  • And a good choice!   All these Thais with their little shops using the QR etc, which is all OK until big brother decides to check their actual income, against declared income, down the line.

Do you not have a Thai bank account? So easy to use the local banking apps for most payments here.  As far as I know Makro accepts only local barcode scans as payment.

I use my K Plus app at Makro. Just scan the QR code and all done. I did ask the Makro cashier 'Do you only accept K Plus? She responded 'No, any bank app which uses a QR code'.

Whether that includes foreign bank apps I don't know.

Some foreign bank apps can be used to make Thai PromptPay QR code payments, and vice versa. If you search for "cross-border QR code payments", you can find information about it by some Thai and foreign banks.

For example, I can use my Bangkok Bank app to make QR code payments in Vietnam. And I can use my Cambodian ABA Bank app to make QR code payments here in Thailand.

SMH, reaching out on a public forum to get answers to an easy question just by using Goggle or calling the store.

If you live here, as it seems the OP does, why would you cling to the past?  What would be the benefit?

If one lives here one uses what works , Cash  or debit card .

All the other stuff are wasting time for there are people waiting  for there turn .
