A Russian woman was robbed early morning on December 13, while walking her dog in a secluded alley near Thepprasit Soi 7, Pattaya. The incident was reported to Pattaya City Police Station at approximately 05.30 prompting officers and rescue workers from the Sawang Boriboon Pattaya Foundation to rush to the scene.

Upon arrival, officers found Ms. Kalishenko Kristina, a 33-year-old Russian national, waiting to provide a statement. Using a translation app on her phone, Ms. Kristina explained that she was walking her dog in a nearby public park, at Youth Sports Centre, when two men on a motorcycle approached her. The men forcefully grabbed her handbag before speeding away. The stolen bag contained valuable items, including a pair of gold earrings, a condo keycard, AirPods, cash amounting to 5,000 baht, and important documents.

Mr. Weerawat Sumdee, 21, a security guard at the park, witnessed the incident. He reported seeing the men struggle with the victim before fleeing the scene. He immediately rode his motorcycle to intervene but was unable to catch the suspects. According to Mr. Weerawat, the culprits were two Thai men riding an unidentified colour, Honda Wave motorcycle. They fled in the direction of Jomtien Second Road.

Authorities have initiated an investigation by coordinating with local law enforcement to review CCTV footage in the area. The goal is to identify and apprehend the suspects as quickly as possible. Meanwhile, the victim has been advised to file an official report at the Dongtan Police Sub-Station for further legal proceedings.

Any more info on the actual location of this 'public park'? Soi 7 is quite a long road, running from Thepprasit to Wat Bun 2/8. The only public park I can think of along there is the Pattaya Youth Centre Stadium. As you can drive through that from Soi 7 to eventually get to Jomtien Second Road, it sounds like it would be a likely spot for some youths to carry out a motorbike snatch and run.

Since my OP more information has become available and yes this was at the Youth Centre Stadium.

I have amended the OP to reflect this additional information, thanks.

5k baht is hardly a lot. A pair of earrings, like wise not much gold. Important documents? Passport, ID card, bank card?

I can’t see your point 🤷‍♂️

He's just blaming the victim!

A random robbery where the thieves grab a handbag without knowing its contents!

Sounds like her dog did little to protect her!

I agree, when Charly, my Great Dane, was alive nobody, not even friends who knew him, dared enter the courtyard, let alone the house if I wasn't present and tradesmen demanded he be shut indoors before entering to do work in the garden, a sensible precaution as one day a man helping me to lift a fridge to take it away for repairs found himself on the floor with his arm gripped firmly in Charlies mouth, he had suddenly leaned in to quickly and too closely to me, luckily no damage was done, no blood drawn as he was wearing something like a sturdy long sleeved boiler suit. Nothing like a Great Dane for safety but apart from being expensive they only live for 7 years, great companions and good with kids.

Mine lived 9 years. He was a gentle giant. Never drew blood either. Dropped dead of congestive heart failure, with no warning. Kaboom! Crashed to the floor and he was gone.

Where did it say that the bag was "full of money and gold"?  The OP only reported that she had B5k and gold earrings.

Agreed.  I can see his point, though, it was a ridiculous point.

Maybe open your eyes. Who carries their passport while out walking the pooch in the dark ?

What's the dog walking got to do with it?  Does that affect whether someone carries their passport or not?
