You're just assuming because they issued a visa with a 5 year expiration date and multiple entires that they will let you re enter without scrutiny.
Correct me if I wrong but there has never been a non-O or tourist visa which didn't require an annual extension. They're basically rolling out the red carpet for remote workers while keeping the rest of the retirees, married, business owners etc... on a short lease. It makes no sense in the context of how it works here.
Good luck just make sure you have some backup plan if the pre-2024 Thailand reasserts itself next year.

Surachate had argued that his removal, supported by the police commissioner general, the police good governance protection committee, and the prime minister, should be halted pending his trial.

In a decisive ruling, the Supreme Administrative Court has rejected an appeal by former Deputy Police Commissioner Pol Gen Surachate Hakparn, affirming the legitimacy of his dismissal from the police force over charges of malfeasance. Surachate had argued that his removal, supported by the police commissioner general, the police good governance protection committee, and the prime minister, should be halted pending his trial.
Despite his efforts, the court found no grounds to delay the dismissal order, thereby upholding the actions taken by the authorities. This decision doesn't just affect Surachate; seven additional officers associated with him have similarly been dismissed. These officers, including Surachate, have already been implicated in serious disciplinary breaches linked to the MBK online gambling website.
With the court backing the dismissal, this case underscores the gravity of corruption charges within Thailand's law enforcement ranks, pushing forward the narrative of accountability and integrity within the sector.
