korat immigration only, new rules or nationwide?

Featured Replies

This week have visited Korat Immigration following a border bounce into Laos very late November 2024.

I was planning on a 30 Extension of stay this week then after 30 days apply for a further 60 day Extension based on being married to a Thai.

However on inspection of the paperwork the officer stated you will not be able to extend the visa you apply for any further - Maximum of 90 day stay in Thailand, you got 60 days when you arrived )

Is this new?

Is this only in Korat or country wide?

Used to be 30 day on arrival, then 1st 30 day extension, then a 2nd 60 day extension for a total of 120 days....

Any thoughts......

That should be possible.

I read a similar report recently but cannot find it..

Think maybe Ubon Ratchathani

Seems folk trying to follow plan you outlined should check with their immigration office.

For offices that allow it then you apply for 30 day extension followed by the 60 to visit wife.
