as freedom

Perhaps you can explain a bit more about that freedom. As compared to whom? North Korea?

If it's so great there, then why are you living in Cambodia?

To live in Thailand?   What do you mean by "live"?   Do you mean just to remain alive, or to actually LIVE in Thailand?   Most here, probably, are not living here.

Living in south-east Asia for 22+ years, jumping between Thailand, Laos and Myanmar.  Right now I'm teaching in Myanmar, but Thailand is my 'base' and where my families are.

He only count freedom for those who have wealth, not those who work their asses of for nothing in return except bad health and no escape from dept.

Can't provide for kids education, and bd health being heritage down the lines.

Freedom is for the wealthy only.

And feeling the need for a gun or 10 in the house to feel safe, doesn't sound like a country of freedom to me.

Brit, here full time for the past 20 years, 10 years part time before that.

Happy as a pig in sheet.

Must be great breathing all that pollution in.

Why don't you move if your complaining?

Lived here 30 years, worked for corporations for 10 of those including being the only Farang in a Thai company, but obviously don't know much about the place as I am always being told I don't know what I am talking about by people who come here 2 weeks of the year and spent the other 50 on this board.

USA. Could have called me KhunSEA  Left at 55 after taking early retirement from 24 years of IT hell.  In Thailand for the last 18 years. Arrived on a Non-B visa, but now fully retired.

Married 17 years to a Thai national and have a 30 year old step-son.  As KhunLA noted, no plans on leaving. The future is in Asia.  I plan on leaving in the form of smoke out of a crematorium.  But life is fickle. Who knows?
Now for the rest of you who don't live here but are TV/AN outspoken regulars?  Why?
Is life so boring in your home country that you need to haunt this forum?

This forum is a multinational business.

The "customers" who are the advertisers need the 'boring" people you allege to post on this forum.

Instead, they are just existing here.

I ❤️ GammaGlobulin's nihilistic angst.  The forum wouldn't be the same without it.

If only those who lived here posted, their business would probably collapses.

Cheap weed

Close to Bangkok for Hardbody action

Loads of Ruins, I love ruins

Strange creatures

Nice people

Great weather

no strip malls, no blizzards

Tell me, Mr. Non American, what freedom we DONT have in the USA?

Can I get arrested for speaking my mind? Do I need an internal passport? Can I live anywhere I want without "registering"? Do I have complete access to the Courts under a Rule of Law (unless you are Trump)? Am I innocent till proven guilty? Can I adhere to any religion I want, even ones that call for the death of other religions? Can I invest as I chose? Can I buy a pistol or a machine gun and posses it freely? Or a V-8?

How about you.

Steaks???  Maybe if you mean quantity.  Certainly not quality.  Argentina has easily got us beat with quality.

You have never had a good steak if you think Argentine beef beats a proper US steak. Im not talking about the ones you get in Waffle House mind you.

Similarly. though I think many in the U.S.A might have trouble buying a machine gun and possessing it freely.

Transferable machine guns were all made before 1986 and can be owned by any American citizen with a clean record who resides in one of the 37 states that do not prohibit such things. They are just stupid expensive.

Yes, you can be arrested for speaking your mind...dependent on what you say, where you say it and about whom.

Categories of speech that are given lesser or no protection by the First Amendment (and therefore may be restricted) include obscenity, fraud, child pornography, speech integral to illegal conduct, speech that incites imminent lawless action, speech that violates intellectual property law, true threats, false statements of fact, and commercial speech such as advertising. Defamation that causes harm to reputation is a tort and also a category which is not protected as free speech.

Your 'freedom' comes at a very high cost. Everything you do, everywhere you go....pay taxes. earn money outside the USA? Pay me.

Ridiculously high charges for medical treatment, insurance and excess charges. Ridiculously high rents and living costs. Poor quality food for the average person. Murderous and trigger happy police forces. Certainly not free for all, when families need to tell their kids to comply with everything the crazy ranting policeman has to say, lest they shoot you for blinking.

You can keep your 'freedom' that isn't really freedom at all. Your living in Cambodia, far away from the USA says it all.

How often have you visited Argentina....or anywhere else for that matter?

Just a frequent visitor for 10 years whilst working in SE Asia, resident in Thailand for the last 20 years.

Best medical care in the world. Rents and lving costs depend on where you live, the USA is not Palm Beach. Food? Best and freshest in the world. Murderous police forces.? Where are you from, clearly you have never been to the USA.

You are just a silly little America basher, bet if you were offered a green card, you would whore yourself out for it.

Im here because I like it. Im old enough that I earned the right to go where I please, when I please.

You should spend more time in Thailand in order to brush up on your English.

Like you, I reside in Thailand.

Until I moved here - and joined this forum - I had no idea how much Brits and (especially) Australians hate Americans.

Yes, not many of us like Americans. I can get along with individuals sometimes but probably you would be amongst the most hated on the planet.

All those bombs you fund and drop tends to put people off you. I did a trip to Vietnam last month, let’s just say they haven’t forgotten what you did to them.
Your president just gave away another 8 billion yesterday to be spent on bombs for killing children. I can think of 1,000 better ways to spend that much money.

I like living in Thailand, trying to get through as many of the female population as I can. Life is short. Weather, food, beer is good, if there is a Heaven I hope it is like this.
