The Cough

Featured Replies

I had what started as a nasal drip cough that developed into an annoying hacking cough - a month onward and good meds and it seems to be getting better...

So many people from near and far are reporting similar... a friend in New Jersey, USA told me everyone there has it... another friend just got off a plane ride to Bkk and has similar...

have you had this or know of others?

Not yet but I guess I can look forward to it 😂

I was going to post something like ... 'y'all actually expecting to get sick'.   What are you nuts, just keep you're immune system primed & ready by eating right, a little exercise & fresh air & sunshine.

Then I saw this 'short' below ... WTF

Had a thought ... could it just be the folks that got vax'd.  Don't want to start another vax vs anti vax thread, but if people are having this issue, would be interesting to know, if vax'd or not.

People living in Hua Hin, BKK or above, then it could just be irritation from the smog, unless more than just a rough, sore throat and a cough.

Smog was even bad down here yesterday, 100 kms / 1 .5 hours south of Hua Hin.  Keep them air purifiers going indoors.

A few 100 comments w/vid, so I guess it's a thing ...

I had a cold last week and managed to prevent a sore throat, chest infection and cough, take the meds early

People get coughs. People have always got coughs and people will always get coughs. Can be anything from environment to a bacteria to a virus or to the worst case cancer. Part and parcel of being alive.

People coughing would IMO be global as of now and everyday. In Thailand poor AQ related coughing will no doubt be on the rise.

Arrived here just over a month ago and soon developed a low level sore throat and cough. Two weeks later my throught and mouth was inflamed. Painful to cough and I could barely swallow. Inside my mouth and tongue was yellow in colour. Tried many throat lozenges that weren't much help so went to the pharmancy to get the magic pill Amoxycillin and the same night felt much better. I could swallow without the fear that what I was trying to swallow was going to stick in my wind pipe. Got  very much better but still have a mild irritating cough. Now the gf is coughing like hell, only to be expected I suppose. I did see about HMPV virus in China but the symptoms are not the same so I dont think it is that.

Sounds like an allergy. I have those symptoms with hay fever, and they respond to Flixonase. Try than or an antihistamine.

I get a dripping nose and a nasty cough that won't go away. Clears up in 10 minutes with Flixonase.

Problem with nasal sprays is the rebound. Don't over use them or you make yourself susceptible to rhinitis medicamentosa. Basically your nasal passages become more inflamed than they were.

I get severe hay fever and use mine every day. Not caused a problem in many years of using. Once is usually enough.

An antihistamine should work too. I don't use them as the nasal spray is enough.

Part and parcel of screwing up your immune system. Lots of sick people these past three years.
