Fake Aristocrat Facing Criminal Charges After Dramatic Police Station Leap
Picture courtesy of Matichon. A man accused of impersonating high-ranking officials and defrauding a Thai actress of tens of thousands of baht is now under investigation for multiple offences following a dramatic incident at Khok Khram Police Station. The suspect, referred to publicly as “Mr. Hot,” attempted to leap from the third floor of the police station in an apparent escape attempt during questioning on the afternoon of 7 April. The dramatic scene unfolded around 15:40 while Mr. Hot was being interviewed by officers in the crime suppression room on the third floor. According to police, the man asked to use the toilet, then suddenly ran out of the room and climbed onto the balcony wall, before jumping. His body struck the metal roof of a car park before hitting the ground. Rescue personnel were dispatched immediately and confirmed he was unconscious but still breathing. He is currently under medical care. Police stated that the suspect was not yet officially under arrest at the time of the incident and could not be handcuffed. They added that he had not exhibited any obvious signs of distress prior to the leap. Earlier in the day, at 14:20, the suspect had reportedly confronted actress and model Rinyarat “Kanar” Watcharorotsiri at the police station, claiming she had blackmailed him for 10 million baht and all her claims are lies. The case had escalated after social media figure Gun Jompalang and actress Kanar appeared on a talk show, revealing shocking claims about the man’s deceit. They alleged that Mr. Hot had impersonated government officials, fabricated high-level connections, including to the Prime Minister and even donned a civil servant’s uniform while using an official-looking vehicle to impress and manipulate. Kanar stated that she was gifted what she believed to be 50 baht-weight gold and diamonds, only to discover later the gold was fake. She also revealed that Mr. Hot had falsely claimed to have received a royal marriage blessing, which led her to believe his intentions were legitimate. Later on the same day, Police Lieutenant General Trirong Phiewphan, Commissioner of the Technology Crime Suppression Division (TCSD), confirmed that legal proceedings are now underway against the suspect. He noted that the scam involving a fabricated chat message requesting a 98,000 baht champagne purchase, allegedly as a gift for the Prime Minister, which constituted fraud and a violation of the Computer Crime Act. Investigations revealed that Mr. Hot had manipulated screenshots to create a fictitious Line chat with Lt. Gen. Trirong, using the officer’s Facebook photo to lend authenticity. Lt. Gen. Trirong stated that the impersonation of his identity made him a victim as well. “The tactics used resemble those of call centre scam gangs,” said the commissioner, urging the public to be wary of romantic scams and claims of connections to high-ranking officials. Speaking after filing a complaint, Kanar said the suspect’s leap from the police station was both unnecessary and futile. “If he truly believed he was innocent, he should present his evidence. Jumping from a building won’t make this go away, our country has laws,” she said. “I have confidence in the evidence and am ready to proceed legally.” Police are now investigating further possible victims and additional offences, with charges including fraud and violations under Thailand’s Computer Crime Act. The suspect remains under medical observation as legal proceedings continue. -- 2025-04-08 -

Countries Targeted by Trump’s Tariffs May Strike Back at U.S. Services
Not sure to me trade deficit is the right measure. Look at the tariffs. For example some nations produce goods of better quality and lower cost and if the playing field is level they will have a trade surplus. Assuming they are respecting human rights and international pollution standards then they earned their surplus. As an example one reason USA might have a trade surplus with other nation is our ability to produce FOOD at a lower cost and in quantity. And at one point Japan was producing much better cars to USA and earned their sales jump. -

Russian Woman Plunges to Her Death from 14th Floor Condo in Pattaya
Pictures courtesy of Kaoded. A 26-year-old Russian woman has died after falling from the 14th floor of a condominium in the Na Kluea area of Bang Lamung, Chonburi province. The incident, which occurred at around 16:00 on 7 April, is being treated as suspicious, and local police have launched a full investigation. Police from Bang Lamung Police Station, accompanied by officers from Pattaya Tourist Police and rescue workers from the Sawang Boriboon Foundation, arrived at the scene on Soi Na Kluea 16 to find the body of Ms. Kyznkoba Kuzikova lying face down in the condo’s garden area. She was found naked, with only a green towel partially covering her lower body. Initial investigations revealed that the deceased had been living alone in a room on the 14th floor of the 40-storey building. However, over the past few days, a fellow Russian man, said to be an acquaintance of only a few days, had been visiting her regularly and was reportedly present in the room at the time of the incident. The man told police that he had been sitting at a table using his laptop with his back turned to the balcony, while the victim was in the bathroom. He claimed that he overheard her having a heated phone conversation, believed to be with her boyfriend, before she emerged from the bathroom in a hurry and jumped from the balcony. Police have taken the man in for further questioning and have not ruled out foul play. The body has been sent to the Institute of Forensic Medicine at the Police General Hospital in Bangkok for an autopsy to determine the exact cause of death. Authorities have also contacted the Russian Embassy to inform them of the incident and are proceeding in accordance with legal protocols. The circumstances surrounding the young woman’s death remain unclear, and investigators are working to uncover the truth behind this fall.
