The worldwide fertility rate is 2.3 (and declining rapidly), and only slightly above the replacement rate of 2.1.

There would be serious consequences if we were talking about Polar Bears or the Lesser Spotted Woodpecker, but it seems that the possibility of self-induced extinction of Homo Sapiens is not really a thing.

As an example, China's population is forecast to reduce from 1.4 Billion to 525 million by 2100. And the Western world is on a similar track. China's population shrinks again and is set to more than halve | Victoria University

Depopulation will be a much-used phrase in 2050. But unlike Climate Change, it really will be a genuine existential threat to civilization. :coffee1:

And thats wise, and I also believe Thai women is a bit smarter now, and do not want babies with anyone.

why would thai women have kids with men, when they can just run off and have no responsibility ?

People would rather have a new truck or iPhone than children

In reality common sense is pushing the world's population down by itself. I've seen some recent studies that have China's population dropping to 650 million by the year 2060, multiple predictions also have shown Thailand's population to drop to 35 million within that same period. The people are just getting smart and many are deciding not to have children, or to have one child at the most.

This is not a great time to be bringing children into the world, and people are wising up. I don't think they're going to be able to reverse that trend. And it's a good thing overall, though some pain will be felt, no doubt. World population needs to drop. What might appear to be an empty lifestyle to some, is bordering on paradise to many millions of us. Though I like kids, I've never had the desire to own any. One hour with one is plenty. It's a personal choice, we all have to make these kind of decisions. 98% choose to go the conventional route and have children. For me children were never an option. And I'm infinitely thankful for that.

The best thing that's happening to the world right now is countries like China and Japan just saying no to children. I do not think children are that special, they're not really needed, they are way over rated, and thankfully it's a choice these days and not compulsory. A lot of people are saying no, I don't need the headaches, I don't need the nonsense, I don't need the expense, I don't need the responsibility, and the planet does not need any other kid.

Nah, I choose to have a great life, I don't need kids. I did that and it was the wisest and smartest decision of this lifetime. I don't miss not having kids for a nanosecond.

The declining birth rates are simply symptomatic of intelligent people looking at life in this day and age, looking at their financial situation, looking at the lack of state support, and just simply deciding that having children it's just not some place they need to go. If they're going to have children, many are limiting it to one child.

There is nothing that could possibly be more positive for the future of Thailand, and the world, than a seriously declining birth rate. It's something that we need drastically. The last thing in the world this planet needs right now is an expanding population.

Disagree,

It's giving women the choice that's stopping breeding.

That is one positive aspect of this hugely complex issue that you are attempting to over simplify.

Men marrying men and women marrying women doesn't help the reproduction of children.

I'm not entirely sure mass white racial suicide is a positive aspect for the world.

and you seem to agree with me in this post ......

It doesn't help that a large proportion of road deaths are young males in their teens/ twenties.

But males aren’t the rate limiting sex in reproduction. If a woman wants a baby, it’s trivially easy for her to find a willing male, even if the number of males has been substantially reduced through war or accidents. In wealthy Western countries at least, the State will then ensure that her children are financially supported. In the same way, if 95% of male soi dogs in a town are neutered, but no females, it will make no difference to the future population of soi dogs.

The hi-so elite are certainly concerned as this diminishes the exploited poor population numbers. Working their asses for long hours everyday with near slave-labor wages is a great deal for the high-class top brass who reap all the benefits and rewards. Those actually doing all the hard labor don't even come close to a fair wage and are constantly struggling just to get by day after day. :post-4641-1156693976:

Certainly that's the narrative being pushed by the Evil Doers. That's why they've made sure their propaganda infiltrates the school systems.

My mate in Canada, who has children, told me the materials are gaslighting kids - kids! -  into questioning their own sexuality. I never had that kind of nonsense in my primary school days.

These creeps can't have their cake and eat it too, griping about population decrease but simultaneously encouraging it thru their own twisted propaganda.

It's one thing to come to a conclusion on your own about your own sexuality, and whatever it is, it should be respected.

It's quite another for the state, infiltrated by demented woke radical leftists, to gaslight your kids.

The world is running out of Thais, that's shocking news.

The reality are proven the opposite.

The poor have more childreen, as the upper classes.

The real reason for the decline of population, at first, the selfishness. Secondary the nature "feels" the present overpopulated state, and regulating back.

Thailand have a lot of forest, before mid 1900 years.

A lot of forest was chopped.

This is scary stuff for governments worldwide because it reduces tax income which is needed to support an increasing aging population.
