Kasikorn is also partner bank to Wise.

I fully expect that when I prepare bank statements for immigration that some transfers will be shown as local transfer eg BBL to Kasikorn.

To cover this "issue" I will obtain "credit advice" from bank.

Yes, that's the way it should work. In the past 4 years or so, using WISE to Bkk Bank, only once did it go via Kasikorn so arrived in Bkk as 'from another Bank'. As you said, I went to Kasikorn to get a Credit Advice, something they had never heard of before, three hours sitting in the branch while they spoke to the HQ, then a hour or so for the Advice to arrive.

Obviously accepted by Immigration or maybe they never noticed or bothered. I called WISE and made sure that my account was 'tagged' to ensure that all transfers to Thailand went directly to my Bkk Bank. Hasn't failed since.

Not true. I used a joint account in Pattaya for my first visa extension. As long as the account had 1.6 million baht, or more, it was accepted.

Ha ha ha. Wish I had 1.6M sitting doing nowt.

Bit off topic however given all the nonsense with TM47 and TM30 of late esp with travel abroad I'm a poofteenth away from using an agent.

Only mention that option as it also avoids funds being difficult to access for wife/partner.

But if it is a Joint account, can she only lay claim to half of it. YOUR 800k stays until Mr Probate says that she can have it.

I am only trying to get my ducks in a row for when the Grim One comes for me.

Don't know why not. Their initial reason for not allowing joint accounts was that if you had B800000 only half of it was yours as it was a joint account.

That's what they told me ages ago.

In a joint account, ALL the funds are available to either of the names on the account, not 50/50.

I read a while back that the 400/800 Deposit for Mr Immigration can be kept in a Joint account which has one of the names ie my Wife's, not showing, so that it looks like a single account, but when I kick it, she can take it all out legally before Probate.

Asked this at my Bkk Branch and they looked at me like I was POTUS!

There are MANY threads related to your thread.

Here is one of a zillion.

I avoid them as the advice is so problematic.

Even read reports where bank staffer advice was just to bleed the account with ATM.

My understanding is that when one person passes the account cannot be accessed.

Others state that with death certificate the wife can access the account.

Issue is you won't be here to sort it out.

Also many using retirement money in bank but not married (me)

I want bullet proof solution.

Hence income method or agent.

Hope you get an answer as that would be great.

Another solution would be to have B1.6mil in joint account with the best bank rate in a yearly term deposit.

I have a joint account with my wife and we have 2 cards as well so either can draw money out.
