A brutal murder has shocked the community in Tha Muang, Kanchanaburi, as a 48-year-old man was killed outside his home with an axe. Authorities suspect the attack was carried out by someone close to the victim, potentially linked to disputes over land or a borrowed motorcycle.

At around 18:00 on 24th January, police from Tha Muang Police Station were alerted to the incident. They, along with officers from the Khun Rattanawut Foundation and forensic teams, rushed to the scene in Soi Tha Lo 5, Moo 3, Tha Lo Subdistrict, Tha Muang District, Kanchanaburi.

The crime scene, located outside a single-storey cement house, revealed the body of Mr. Sarawut 48, lying on his back. A deep wound caused by a sharp object was found on the left side of his neck, with blood pooling around him. An metal axe was discovered near his body and is believed to be the murder weapon. Bloodstains were also found inside the house, alongside signs of a violent struggle.

According to Ms. Ice, the victim's daughter, she was informed by relatives in the evening that her father had been attacked. Rushing to the scene, she was horrified to find his lifeless body. Police have already obtained audio evidence of an argument from a neighbouring house, which may identify the attacker. Ms. Ice refrained from naming any suspects but mentioned the dispute may be related to land ownership or the borrowing of a motorcycle.

Meanwhile, Mr. Sophon, a former village assistant headman and neighbour, said he had known Mr. Sarawut since childhood, as the land where the house is located belonged to Mr. Sarawut's mother. The victim, who worked as a labourer, was described as an ordinary and hardworking man. Police have reviewed the audio evidence and believe they have identified the suspect.

Investigators are now working closely with the victim's relatives to confirm the suspect's identity. A team has been dispatched to locate the person in question, with an arrest anticipated.

My next door neighbor, my ex's cousin, borrows things from me a lot and only returns them when I ask, but I haven't thought about attacking him with an axe.

People don't usually attack those that help them although it does happen. I wouldn't want to hurt anyone who isn't trying to hurt me or my family. In that case it's a no brainer.

I mean you are asking for your stuff back. You know how some people get offended and become violent when they have to return things that don't belong to them.

If they borrow, they return when I ask, simple.
