The elections are happening in 47/77 provinces where there will be an alcohol ban so more than likely somewhere most of us live.

If the desperation for a drink is too bad then advise to stock up before 6pm on Friday like I am going to do.  No doubt there will be as usual a couple of places drinking from coffee cups if you happen to be aware of one of these!

You're right there, this is about going out, not staying in with the fake wife

Fake wife hahaha - probably better than a real one IMO! 🤣

I tend to find the only good wife is an X one.

Don't people, expats here, actually have friends.  You know, get togethers at houses, a little bbq, sit around, talk to each other.   Especially since a bit cooler weather and not brutally hot outside.

Sitting in a bar environment all the time can't be healthy.  You can always ring up you favorite night time companion, to get your freak on later, especially if he, she or it is P4P.  People do keep a little black book (folder of phone) of friends w/bennies, or P4P companions.  Myself, the former when single.  No different in TH, as when back in USA.

People been here long enough, they do, should have some 'real' friends.  When I lived in Udon Thani, I popped over friend's houses, and they over to ours for a day of food & drinks, and chit chat.

Life revolving around alcohol & bars has got to get boring, sooner or later, and need to break it up sometimes.   What better time than 'no sales' day.

Even a meet up at a night market with friends, as if nobody serving any alcohol, hard to believe, then BYO.   Especially folks in Patts.  If not drinking spirits, how hard to throw  6er in a cooler and hang out surfside.

It's incredibly unhealthy to drink every day. Even 3 or 4 days a week damages the liver and brain. So, making a fuss about one night of not drinking? Really? Is the habit that engrossing? Is sobriety really that awful for you?

The topic title is quite incomplete.

The election is on Saturday Feb 1st.

So ban is from Friday 31st, 5 PM to Saturday Feb 1st 5 PM.

So the weekend binge drinking is saved.

The first post explains it, hopefully you understood that, it was quite simple

I think you missed "the day I go out drinking" for many it is a social event and not a chance to stock up and sit at home with a few cans.

Yes but some people can't resist stating the obvious and appearing holier than thou while they're doing it.
