Yeah, even after years I have problems with the low level here on AN. Good, that we have someone like you.

I suggest you should look for a forum where you and you high level intellect fits in much better.

I don't need your advice since you're not in a position to do so.

@Ben Zioner Unfortunately, I will expect a few that has been having trouble, but my gut is telling me that most of them deserved it and that the bigger part will vote like you.

On my very first 90 day report some years ago I was accused of having a 25 day overstay, after a lot of arguing and raised voices, the IO took me to an office upstairs to see his "boss". He left me standing at the office door for no more than 2 mins, then came out and handed me back my passport and just said "report again in 90 days, no apology.

One time one didnt say Hello to me.

Surely can be a problem. However, I believe it´s more like some are lenient, and remove the rules for different reasons. When people read about that, they are questioning why they have to show soo much. In reality, there are a lot of paper work to get a visa or an extension. It becomes more a question about that everyone should be working the same way. Unfortunately, that ain´t possible in Thailand, as each single individual get to much freedom to add or remove things. Actually not a bad treatment from immigration, but a problem that must be solved on governmental level.

I think it could be a lot to do with a lot of Thai's not being computer literate enough, or too slow and taking too long because they can only use only one finger, so the need for so much paperwork.

A friend of mine had to write his signature over 100 times in one afternoon, yes, you read that right.

Never, probably because I am polite and have proper up to date documents.

If that´s true it´s horrible! Are you sure he was not signing his new book release? 😉

Ok, a little bit unfair, according to our western rules. However, if nobody at the top that gives you an ok, say it is wrong, then you got your Asian apology. That´s the culture here, and I wish more foreigners could be aware of that.

By making such foolish reply, you put me in a position to do so. You should go back and check your posts before making more stupid remarks.

Thai Immigration, like all bureaucracies, is a PITA. I've met IOs who embody everything bad about bureaucrats. On the flip side, most of my interactions with IO are neutral to good.  Larger offices tend to be larger bureaucracies and a larger PITA.  Smaller offices, from my experience, have been easier to deal with, right down to knowing the names of the IOs.

Unfair?  No.
Ridiculously stupid at times?  Yeah.

Because you haven't anything to say so far you need more gibberish as a reply? How pathetic

Once I was taken aside by a pretty young female immigration officer in a tight uniform.  She took me into a side room and forced me to strip naked and crawl around on the cold floor while shouting abuse at me and whipping me with a leather whip ....

Wait!!! So sorry, wrong forum!!  I thought I was posting in the sexual fantasies forum.....

You've missed corruption, incompetency and being and arshle for the sake of being an arshle on your list. All part of Thai Immigration 101.

Why do you stay in this thread? I am sure there are some that you like. post there instead.

Not unfairly....although that might be hard to judge as you don't know what is happening to others......but it is intensely frustrating when they don't provide all the details required to ensure a smooth application.....or change requirements and give no notification.
