And the people working for them were totally focussed on internal politics and their own careers with zero interest in the actual project.

 

After I left one project in China after it became clear it was just a property scam, they employed an actor to pretend to be the consultant in my place.

 

Both USAID and the UN should be disbanded and funding diverted to organisations where they care about results.

While in the Philippines in the early 1980's, one of my relatives was the bag man who actually delivered the bribes to government building inspectors.  USAID stopped funding the project when they found out what was going on.  This was in the Marcos days.

Aye, very good - article from 2022. Here's the latest debt news - Morgan Stanley offloaded $5.5 billion at 97 cents, the offering was snatched up as investors know there's profit. Immediately started trading at 98/99 with a 6.5% return in 2029.
