RFK Jr.’s Confirmation Hearings Prove He’s Unfit to Lead HHS

I didn't follow the hearing, but did he propose universal healthcare?

Today, people pay for insurance that is then pooled so that the money from those who don't get sick is used by those who need it. Sounds legit.

So this time, he's picking who he wants, and trusts, hopefully to do a better job.

His party will approve his picks, as they know, being in is crosshairs, isn't the best career choice for their future.

So no different to a crime family.

Interesting article being that JFK Jnr. has passed this session (albeit slimly with a 14-13 vote) and now moves to the full Senate vote. A fact that the bashers and sufferers of "that which cannot be named syndrome" have failed to mention. Big Pharma, Big Food and Big Ag really do not want this man in.

Silly opinion piece.

RFK will do a great job.

Trump is putting a great team together.

All the Liberal tears do is confirm that.

I hope you are just a TROLL and do not actually believe in the dangerous cr@p you spout forth!

Cost me over ฿1000, maybe, (first 2 weeks), but I'll take one for the team :coffee1:

It will cost you more than $1000 after Trump has plunged the world into recession.

I don't need Senate hearings to tell me RFK is a dangerous charlatan.

Still, every cloud has a silver lining. American dentists must be rubbing their hands in glee.

How can the topic not be "improving health care in the US" if we're discussing his nomination to be head of HHS?

If the topic is RFK Jr sucks, then you'd have a point.  That's what the OP is all about.

I disagree.  He'll be better than the fidiots who have given us high prices and poor results.

OK, I'll bite. How do you think an anti-vax drug addict with no credentials going to improve health care.

The New York Post eh!

The only thing that a reader can be sure of with this awful rag; is the date. And best to check that with the wall calendar.

Nah ... no worries.  Only went from ~฿35 to ฿30 / $1 during his last administration.   Can't see him repeating that again, especially with a <2% average inflation rate over 4 years.

I can deal with a 15% loss.  Just consider it a contribution to my brothers, still stuck in USA hell :cheesy:

Unfit and unqualified are the criterias for Trump's cabinet. He need ring kissers and those who can grovel lowest.

You seem to have forgotten very quickly that the previous President of the United States was most definitely unfit for office. Fortunately the voting public knew this to be the case with Harris and voted Trump in.

Robert F. Kennedy Jr.’s two-day Senate confirmation hearings have left no doubt: he is entirely unqualified to head the Department of Health and Human Services. His testimony failed to sway opinions in his favor, instead reinforcing long-standing concerns about his suitability for the role.

One of the most glaring issues was his continued refusal to disavow the debunked claim that vaccines cause autism. Despite overwhelming scientific evidence disproving any link, Kennedy remained evasive when asked for a clear statement. When pressed directly on the matter, he hedged, saying, “If you show me data, I will be the first person to assure the American people that they need to take those vaccines.” Senator Bernie Sanders, usually on the opposing side of Kennedy’s politics, confronted him with established facts:

“The evidence is there. Vaccines do not cause autism. Do you agree with that?” Rather than acknowledge the scientific consensus, Kennedy dodged the question, claiming he wouldn’t enter the HHS with “preordained” beliefs before being cut off by a frustrated senator.

His refusal to accept facts didn’t stop there. When presented with direct evidence from Senator Bill Cassidy, a physician and Republican from Louisiana, proving that childhood vaccines don’t contribute to autism, Kennedy still defended his years of spreading skepticism. He insisted his past claims about vaccines and autism were not unfounded, despite years of scientific research proving otherwise.

Beyond vaccines, Kennedy’s disregard for science extends to his stance on COVID-19 vaccines, which he continues to undermine even though data shows they have saved millions of lives. It is reasonable to question scientific developments, but Kennedy has spent much of his career pushing misinformation, often in ways that could discourage people from taking life-saving vaccines. The consequences of such rhetoric are real—people may forgo vaccinations, increasing their risk of preventable diseases.

Conveniently, Kennedy’s relentless attacks on the pharmaceutical industry also align with the interests of trial lawyers, providing ammunition for lawsuits against drug companies. While scrutiny of Big Pharma is necessary at times, his approach has consistently leaned into conspiracy-driven narratives rather than evidence-based critiques.

His embrace of conspiracy theories doesn’t stop at health topics. Kennedy has questioned the widely accepted facts about the 9/11 attacks and has even suggested that electromagnetic radiation from Wi-Fi alters DNA and is linked to cancer—claims that have no credible scientific backing. These beliefs raise serious concerns about his ability to lead an agency where decisions should be based on rigorous scientific evaluation.

While Kennedy does advocate for healthier lifestyles through diet and exercise, his extreme and unfounded views far outweigh any positive contributions. Running a major federal health agency requires the ability to make informed decisions based on science, not personal theories or debunked claims.

For the sake of public health, the Senate must reject Kennedy’s nomination and ensure the country’s top health agency is led by someone who respects and upholds scientific truth.

Every one is scared the yanks might get a big healthyer and less reliant on big pharma s poison!  People do not need 70 vaccines! F rediculous, just look at the mormans, they don’t get autism!
go RFK - kick some sense into the corrupt politicians! Have you seen the person who was in charge before? Only 60 kilos overweight, she/he hasn’t seen their own private parts for 3 decades! And couldn’t do 1 pushup!

RFK Jr. is unfit, just like most of Trump's nominees. But the most shameful fact in all of this is Trump was elected president. I'm extremely disappointed and even a little fearful of my fellow US citizens. I'm very happy that I now live in Thailand and can just watch all the catastrophes develop from my easy chair on CNN, as long as they keep their hands off my Social Security payments.

It appears to me the only 'qualification' any of them has is sycophancy and a taste for ring pieces. And they're the ones railing against DEI.

If only the irony wasn't so terrible.

Not half as shameful as the Dems who didn't put up a viable candidate, then swapped him out for an even worse one that had received not one primary vote.

It was an own goal.  Live with it.

I'm hoping they eliminate Social Security altogether.

That "an even worse one that had received not one primary vote" got 47.6% of the popular vote, just 2.3% less than Trump. No one got the majority of the popular vote.

I don't hope that. Why would you want that?

But if they do, I only ask that they don't eliminate the Social Security benefits from the money already taken from retired people like me.

If they had put forth a decent candidate, they'd be in the White House, probably pushing through a green haired guy in a dress to be head of HHS.

Any money (with interest) that was withheld that is over and above what has already been paid out, should be refunded in a lump-sum payout.
