A few months ago the Euro was at THB 39+. I wanted to bring in my FCD Euros but wife said wait for 40...

Just cost average into it then.  Bring some in at 39+ and more in if it hits 40.  The problem with people thinking I will wait until it hits some nice even number like 40 is the currency market doesn't fluctuate between nice even numbers generally

Well, that's bad news for Thailand but good news for me (US citizen). However, when I came here over 20 years ago, the exchange rate was in the high 40s.

Good, then I can buy a boat and go sailing in the Gulf of Mexico.

You mean the Gulf of America, at least that's what Google maps show.

Thailand being heavily reliant on tourism and exports would, for the most part, prefer a devalued Thai Baht. Tourism up, exports up, I think there is a good chance of the Thai baht staying in current range or even appreciating. I wouldn't raise one's hopes of  the Thai baht deprecaiting against your home currency. Unlike Thaialnd many Western countries have massive debt and current account balance deficits

BOT policy meeting today.

Will they decide to cut rates to say 0.25% and if so, will it help the us$?

Thailand’s tourism sector is notably recovering well, with foreign arrivals reaching 3.97 million by early February, matching pre-pandemic figures from 2019. This resurgence is expected to gain momentum in the second half of the year.

No mention of the damage being done to tourism by Thailand's horrendous February to April air quality, international awareness of which is steadily growing. What travel agent is going to send its customers into this smog?

The Thai baht has always been propped up the government and the central bank. It’s true value is suboptimal.

Good, have some term deposits expire in 1 week, and will buy more gold.

Easy to beat the 2% interest, and no withholding tax to claim back either
