I could go on and on, all day long about the reasonable cost of living here. I live at a level here, that I would never be able to live at, in the US, in most of Europe, in Oz, or Canada. ,

In many medium and smaller cities in Thailand one can find a small apartment for under 10,000 a month, and nice houses for well under 20,000 a month. That is cheap. That same house in Los Angeles, is 120,000 baht a month. Likely the same applies to many big cities around the world. In the US, Australia, all of Europe, NZ, and Canada pricing for nearly anything is out of control, and only going up.

In BKK a beer is 70-100 baht at a bar. I can get a good meal in Bangkok for 200 to 300 baht. No comparison. Anything labor related? What cost us 500 baht here is $75-100 in Singapore, and $200 in Los Angeles. Sex? 4,000 baht in Singapore for 30 minutes. $800 for 90 minutes in LA or Vegas. Here?

Compared to others I find many Thai people delightful. And it is one of the few places I can flirt mercilessly with cute young women, and they not only don't seem to mind, they seem to enjoy it. Thais are still a rather lighthearted people. Despite all the nonsense. I love that about them.

The quality of my life in Thailand is so vastly superior to the way I would be living in the US. I was recently in US again for business. There is little joy there. And inflation is beyond your ability to fathom. Stupid is the best way to describe pricing on most anything.

And woe are my single friends there. One just told me after 8 dates, over $1500 spent on meals, concerts, etc. she just informed him she does not think they are compatible. Huh? Does the concept of overly entitled come to mind.

I could go on, but I won't.

Definitely the petite, smiling women that talk to me.

So much more pleasant than the beefy, entitled, opinionated, angry frumps back in the UK.

What about the fat mingers back in Oz Malky? That is where you are from, isn't it?

If that is your thing, then good on you.

Leaves more Thais for me.

The place is great except for the heat and pollution. The people are generally very helpful and easy to get along with at a superficial level. The place is also pretty safe, as long as you stay off the roads.

People are very approachable and you can pretty much talk with anyone, something much less commonly found in other countries.

A shame they don't drop all the duties on imported products.

But definitely not here for the Chinese, Indian, and Russian tourists and all the dodgy foreigners.

Nor the obsessive, compulsive old expat moaners and serial whingers who will be piling in on this topic. 😂

The basics are the most important for me. Continuous availability of water and electricity. Water pressure remains excellent all day (at least where I live). Internet is incredibly fast and so cheap. Roads are either tarmacadum (asphalt) or concrete. That means you can travel even when it rains. New international terminal recently built at my local (previously domestic only) airport. Roads widened, footpaths constructed and surface water drains of massive proportions installed. Railway now flies over our town instead of through it with platforms designed with future proofing in mind. Our local community hospital is now being extended for the second time. There appears to be money available for improvements in infrastructure and healthcare. Things that are very much lacking in UK, and completely non-existent where I lived previously (Paraguay).

And yet people  in this thread claim the country is 3rd world... that is not what you are describing.

Do what I want, when I want, how I want, and nobody cares.

Cost of products from CN

COL, and anything involving labor

Inexpensive O&A

No PC brigade

No over regulation

No Karens or male versions, though can't say I ever ran into any at USA

What a simp he is. 1500 spent for friend zone.

She just wanted free food. I bet she was a single mom independent and strong with a great career and didn't need a man in her life.

Not to mention the fast internet (entertainment).

Yep, without that fast Internet your Pornhub would break down. Then you might have to throw the wife one instead. What a chilling thought, isn't it?

Sounds like she had a solid vibrator with 3 different speed settings and she was all set.
