Free golf and massages. Not worthless.

I don’t have the right kind of stick for golf, and I hate massages, free or otherwise.  Living in Chiang Rai the chauffeur service is not available, I see a doctor every 6 months for a full checkup and blood work up, a skin doctor every 2 months, a plastic surgeon every 6 months and a urologist every year so I don’t think anything other than my basic 20 year package which takes up to 83 yo is appropriate for me. I fully expect to be brown bread by then.

At 67 years old, lifestyle and preventative medicine is the most important thing, once a year is not enough.

10 year LTR visa is 50,000 baht and no 90 day reports  and exempt from Thailand taxes owed  and you can get a work permit if desired.  I don’t see anyone close to age 50 and above paying anything close to 6 million baht now that the LTR visa is available.  I prefer the LTR visa and its benefits and cost over any and all the various Thai Elite Visas.

When you have the means to ensure that the immigration stuff is merely a minor annoyance, rather than a major production yearly, then I would suggest that makes a lot of sense.

Here in the rarefied air of some one that can actually afford to live in Thailand, you really do annoy the rest of us with your whining about the difficulties of living in Thailand.  A little suggestion -- go home!

This is a Tier 1 visa. It is lifetime, and with unlimited transfers/sales between people. Theoretically this means it will never expire.

Benefits from this visa:

1 free massage per day everyday in the best spas across Thailand. No limits. Can be used everyday of the year, forever.

Free Golf fees across the best courses in Thailand.

Free airport limo pickup & dropoff to/from condo/ hotel + VIP service at airport (no limits per year)

- 1 Free annual health checkup per year at Bumungrad Hospital

my asking price is $6M, If you are interested please contact me, and note that any transfer will be done through the official Thailand Elite office for legal and safety reasons

Dream on...

And now 8 mio is dollar!

Please see this correction the OP posted early in this topic:

$6m baht translates as dollar six metres Baht.

The OP does not mention what country's dollar he means but it is safe to assume that it is the United States dollar (curreny code: USD)

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dollar?wprov=sfla1

With m, the OP obviously does not mean metre or the prefix milli, but million. There is no official symbol for million and one sees different symbols used by different people and different news publications, the most frequently used being M, which is the prefix mega.

https://www.bipm.org/documents/20126/41483022/SI-Brochure-9-EN.pdf

With baht, the OP clearly means Baht (currency code: THB)

Get in touch with a Chinese agent, it wouldn’t be too hard to sell the lifetime Thai elite.

Thats not a bad idea... Although knowing which ones to get into touch with is the tricky part. As is trusting them, though any transaction would still have to go through TPC.

But...  passing over a Life Time Elite Membership (and life time visa) to a Chinese person is certainly going to rub up some of the "not for me" (I can't afford it) crowd....

What are the O2 levels in the rarefied air where the elites reside, that you would be willing to pay so much for a Visa to live in Thailand?

The 'O2' levels where the 'air' is clear enough to see the investment.

Having owned LifeTime Elite Membership for over 15 years its already paid for itself...

- AOT Transport (approx 16x per year) with fast Track through Airport: 16,000 baht per year

- Golf (20 to 50x per year at 2000-4000 Baht per round) - Av approx 120,000 baht per year

- Massage: Weekly: *26,000 baht per year

- Yearly Medical: 20,000 per year

- Rough workings: about 180,000 baht of perks per year...

At a cost of 1MB - mine paid for itself quite quickly...

*using the argument that you'll only pay 500 baht for a cheap massage, in reality these are high end massage places that usually cost anywhere from 1500 to 2000 baht.

For someone who plays Golf 3x per week and likes decent / top courses

(4000 baht per round) - consider that to be around 642,400 baht per year...   OK, so its unrealistic to play 3x per week every week...  so half that: and you're still looking at 300,000 to 400,000 per year on golf alone...

For those in that sort of target demographic - the cost of membership is not an extreme proposition at all.

When the membership first came out we had all the same comments - the nay sayers etc...

Years later - there are Thai Elite Members (Life timers  and 20 year members) whose membership has more than paid for itself.

I can't understand why some people are critizicing this offer. Like it's been mentioned many times, it's for some people, and for those who come here just to drink and cause problems, it's obviously not a good investment, and they should just stay away from the discussion altogether 🙂

well if one is counting costs, 10 years of a retirement visa plus the return cost if leaving the county which many also do, the cos then comes about to be about the same except then one doesn't have to pay ANY taxes on foreign income remitted, no 90-day reports,  not bank letters, etc nor no funds being in an acct.  I just did my first 1-year report (as I didn't leave the country and if I had then the 1-year anniversary would have switched to the date of my arrival back in country.  All I was reqired to provide either in person or an agent or spouse or whatever, was a filled in form 95 available from the BOI or immigration offices, my passport showing the TM6 (if available) 15 days prior to the anniversary date or 7 days after that date.  I spent at most 12 minutes at the BOI/Immigration office and on my own  did bring my TM30 for my BKK stay which hadn't been mentioned by the BIO but I had a copy just in case it might be needed.  No copies of any other letters, or visits to any other office - had to be free of any costs and only 12 minutes in the buiding!  I am a retired US Govt civil servent, by no means wealthy except by the BOI Standard and if one doesn't have even close to my annuity, I would be worried about the next 4 years for sure.

I just got an email from TE giving details about the new limo service as the old provider will change from 31/3.

i read it as a significant downgrade of the service, at least in terms of arrival. Instead of the the limo being ready at the gate for pickup, the new arrangement requires members to cross  to the other side and wait there for the car to come round ( I presume from the car park).

under the old system it used to take a few seconds from exiting the gate to being in car and on your way. Yesterday’s email warns of an upto 15 minutes wait outside for the car to arrive.
In the early days of the new arrangement I expect there will be confusion and delays will be more than this.

BTW , I have one of the very early TE visas, I am pretty sure the same as the OP.

i make some use of the service but not the actual visa as ,in recent years ,I have no need of it.

a few years ago I considered selling and i spoke to TE about how to go about this. At the time I was informed that if I sold the privilege would change from lifetime to time limited (20 or 30 years I can’t remember)

I am pretty sure that the OP was mistaken in suggesting that the lifetime privilege could be transferred without limits.

I had both call and had them send me email about my Elitecard membership status. There is no mistake that transfer is unlimited, I am the first batch that bough it when it first came out

That e-mail was somewhat odd, SIXT has been the transport provider for a while now.

There is no notable change in service other than the colour of the cars !

I think your membership is the same as mine - I think it was the 'second batch' or whatever we want to call it.

Lifetime Membership: If transferring over to someone else 30 years can be transferred.

The Op was one of the very first 'takers' and it seems his membership is the 'first batch' and lifetime membership is transfered across.

Limo not waiting at the gate is a pretty significant change of service in my opinion. They say the change will be implemented from 31/3, I have a short trip scheduled in April, returning to BKK on the 9th ,will be interested to see how the new system is working.

Well it will all become clear when you come to do the transfer.

i am cheering you on because even if you get close to half your asking price ( which frankly I don’t think you will) i might consider (again) selling my one. Although it looks like I can only transfer a 30 year entitlement.
I have limited use for it anyway. I was offered 1.5 million a few years ago which seems like a more realistic price.

I've rejected 1.7 Million Baht in the past after being approached (30 years transfered).

I don't really need the Visa any more, but the convenience of membership given frequent travel is something I'd miss.
