Accident Panic on Bangkok Streets as 16,000 Litres of Petrol Spills After Tanker Crash
Pictures from responders. A serious road traffic crash in the early hours of the morning of 24 May, has led to the spillage of over 16,000 litres of petrol on a major Bangkok thoroughfare, forcing a complete shutdown of the affected area and prompting an urgent emergency response to prevent a possible catastrophic fire or explosion. The incident occurred at approximately 00.20, at the Ratchaphruek intersection, near the junction of Rat Phatthana and Suksawat Roads in the Bang Pakok sub-district of Rat Burana district. A 22-wheeled lorry, reportedly transporting fruit juice from Ratchaburi to Khlong Toei Port, collided with a 10-wheeled fuel tanker carrying a full load of petrol. Eyewitness accounts and initial driver testimony suggest that the fuel tanker abruptly turned onto Rat Phatthana Road from Suksawat Soi 27, leaving the lorry driver unable to stop in time, resulting in a high-impact collision that overturned the tanker. The crash caused the tanker to flip onto its side and rupture, releasing 16,000 litres of highly inflammable petrol onto the street. Emergency services from the Rat Burana Police Station, Bangkok Fire Department, and volunteers from the Poh Teck Tung Foundation were dispatched immediately. Firefighters worked through the night, spraying foam and water across the spill area to suppress petrol vapours and reduce the risk of ignition. Sandbags were deployed strategically to prevent the fuel from spreading further and contaminating surrounding areas or storm drains. The area was completely cordoned off as a precaution and traffic suspended on Rat Phatthana Road while emergency crews continued containment and cleanup efforts. A large crane was brought in later, to assist with the removal of the overturned tanker. The driver of the fuel tanker was injured and is being treated in hospital; police have stated that they will question him further as part of the ongoing investigation. CCTV footage from the intersection is being reviewed to determine the precise cause of the accident and establish liability. Authorities have praised the swift response of emergency services, which likely averted a potential major disaster. Given the volatility of petrol and the sheer volume spilled, there was a significant risk to the surrounding area. The incident serves as a stark reminder of the dangers posed by transporting hazardous materials through densely populated urban areas and it is likely to reignite discussions about route restrictions and stricter safety regulations for fuel transport vehicles in Bangkok. Trump Threatens Major Tariff Surge of 50% on EU Amid Trade Frustrations
Trump will back down and fold like he did with the Chinese. The collapse of the US position when faced with the Chinese discipline has set the example for the rest of the world and it is paying off for the Chinese. Chinese automaker GAC announced this past week its product launch in Brazil, and its intention to build a new factory in the in late 2026. In 2025, GAC announced its plans to invest 6 billion reais (US$1.06 billion) in Brazil over five years. The vehicles it will sell in Brazil are lost sales opportunities for US auto exports. -

Maga/Trump's big ugly bill set to kick 14 million Americans off their health care coverage
another dem v republican thread, dems refusing to listen to the facts and only the dem playbook of lies and BS while republ;icans back their president. Having read and listened to both sides all I can do is laugh as neither want the whole truth to come out. cuts are needed but they are not going to effect the ones that need them, removing illegal immigrants from everything aimed at US citizens is needed, all the argiments are not about the truth but about the way it is being spun esoecially by the left. The amount of fraud being exposed by doge that the left is heavily involved in has made them push their BS to try to stop themselves from being exposed, firebombing tesla cars etc just shows how demented they really are, the left suffers heavily from trump syndrome and the right sees nothing wrong with what is happening, the problem in the US is the fact that too many people are completely blind to anything except what they believe, this includes judges as well, they refuse to accept that anything the other side does is good for the country, all they want is their side to win elections and dont give a flying monkey about whats best for the US itself, best idea would be to arm all those whinging and let them shoot it out -

Crime Swiss National 'David' Sentenced to Jail for Assaulting Thai Doctor in Phuket
Your personal background has no relevance to this case. The fact is that kicking and swearing at people is not acceptable in any country. Thuggish behaviour deserving judicial punishment. I would have thought a year behind bars would have been more appropriate. Behaviour like this reflects badly on all of us. -

Another Farang bully makes the news.
Things must be pretty calm in Thailand if this is making television news. Just wondering, would this have even made the news he was a Thai?
