Non O retirement extension paperwork

Featured Replies

Does anybody know what happens to the paperwork that is used to support visa extensions at immigration offices. There is a lot of it and I guess itโ€™s filed away somewhere never to see the light of day again ๐Ÿคทโ€โ™‚๏ธ

Thrown in the skip outside most likely, why, are you worried about it?

No just wondering if they keep it where do they keep it and how they are able to easily retrieve it? ย Do they replace the previous years paperwork with the current years?

There is no point in storing it if it will never be looked at again.ย

They do keep it.ย  All of it.ย  Most likely locally as I have heard from immigration volunteers that have seen rooms full of the boxes and them moving them in and out.ย  Also anecdotes about them having files and being able to show things from multiple years prior.

I think it's safe to say the Thai government spends a lot of money on warehouses for literal mountains of paper, since they seem to love it so much.

Thanks for this. To be honest I guessed it was kept since the IO stamped the TM07 top right hand corner with a stamp and filled in some sort of reference
