Boycott the USA. There seems to be no other way.

  • I hear from a friend that Canada is contemplating cancelling their order of F-35s also. Great!

Yes, L+M specifically, but watch this space. Germany are already talking to get out of the deal.  All Euro nations will be better off with JAS-39. The most advanced fighter jet currently availabl

Typical not getting the point. Scorecard asked for a guide and I offered one to him.

Turkey just signed a contract for 40 Eurofighter Typhoons and Meteor air -to-air missiles no longer interested in F35's.

Trump is losing America not only friends and allies but customers as well.

Trump may well think that America can do withoutcustomers outside America but the companies and workers that produce the goods sure as hell do.

The US kicked Turkey out of the F35 program years ago. Just recently the Turks were trying to get back in. But they were not part of the program anyway. https://www.ekathimerini.com/politics/foreign-policy/1261246/f-35-window-opens-again-for-turkey/

F35 is a system.

That's the main issue. Countries equipped with F-35 are at the mercy of the U.S. if they want to use it. It may not brick them but at least degrade the system by not providing updates.

Didn't Sweden just sell a bunch of fighters to Thailand? We all know that once something gets into Thailand, it also goes straight to China. That's why the US refused to give Thailand F35s and only wanted to allow them to have relatively safely controlled avionics in updated F16s. China will end up with all the information on vulnerabilities of Swedish jets before most of the European customers ever get delivery.

Countries with nuclear sharing agreement under NATO, such as Germany, ordered F-35 because it was the only new generation fighter certified to carry U.S. nuclear bombs. On this aspect, they may well become useless.

Right, and how many USD billions lost is for the USA?

Not  America, Boeing is the manufacturer and Portugal should consider themselves lucky. The F35 is a smoldering pile of junk given the cost.

They fought their best from galleons.

Probably, though I reckon that would be more to do with his age...........

Great navigators. Lots of folks in Rhode Island from the old whaling industry. Great food too.

Ask the Iranian Air Defense Commanders and the manufacturers of the Russian AD systems.

If that's the case, and it's not a loss for America, I guess you believe that the balance of payments and the loss of US jobs doesn't matter. So why exactly is Trump imposing tariffs?

IMO the old saying that "War is good for business" should be amended with "but not for American business"...

 Boeing doesn't make the F35.

Thanks for the compounded stupidity.

A sure sign that someone's got nothing is when they make it personal. You've got nothing.

Trump is getting wet dreams about Russia's resources  but forgot that Europe is one of the three world's largest market...:coffee1:

Yeah, but Chinese already have all the secrets of the F-35 and F-22. Just look at their stealth fighters. Chenese J-20 looks just like the American F-22.

All those guest Chinese engineers working for Boeing and L-M just took all the secret papers and went home.

China already says they have tech to detect F-35. Just billions of USD lost for useless research...

As soon as new stealth tech is developed, a new way to detect it will be found. Never ending story.

The stupidity was in the comments. I wrote nothing about the maker of them.

Ladyboys can look like women

Trump or no Trump, the F35a is a piece of junk for any non US buyer. The plane can be sort of put OffLine from the USA, and one has to constantly shell out billions for regular upgrades and updates.

A sort of Apple and Microsoft style business plan !!

As much as I may dislike Europe and the EU policies, if I was to decide, I would definately go for a European made,  fighter plane.

Clever Thailand going for the Swedish Gripen.

Thailand had 12 Gripens since 2011, well, 11 now since one splashed a few years ago, based in Surat Thani.

Excellent choice for a country like Thailand.

Such a beautiful aircraft! Russia, beware!
