I used to hate ,, but its so draining  on me   , so now i pity them instead ,, for their poor feeble minds  and limited outlooks ,,  much more effective too

Gotta hand it to Bob, this is a top-tier windup, full marks, maybe one of the best I have seen on this site. Hooks people right in with the empathy angle. Full credit where it is due, I did not think BS had it in him to pull off something this well-crafted. The whole “I am on meds and had to up my dose” bit is a clever touch, really sells the narrative and also helps explain why all of Bob’s windup posts always have such a bitter, scathing edge.

That said, while I do believe Bob is often miserable in real life, it is a shame he could not use his creativity for a windup with a more positive spin for once. But let’s be honest, people love watching others struggle. It is a way of coping with their own unresolved misery, finding solace in the notion that someone else has it even worse. That is why disaster stories and tales of suffering always draw the most engagement. Bob knows this and he is playing it masterfully, luring people into sharing their own negativity so he can feed off the collective misery. A topic like this will always reel in more fish than something with a happier slant, that's why I feel it is so well played.

Do you see these people in person often? If so avoid them.

He claims he primarily hates himself. How does he avoid himself?

Thats it? With all the jew hating, terrorist supporting, national socialist/socialist worshipping and racist members here thats all?

Maybe he should make that four?

I would argue that, as a farang, it is impossible to make close bonds here.

I even keep Mrs. Smith at arms length these days..

bob.

Then that's you. Not Mrs. Smith or anyone else. It's just you. With all this self-loathing, how do you even sleep with yourself?

I am not sure you can hate someone for what they write anonymously on AN. Once you understand they have no real life and expouse their venom here as an escape from their unhappy lives then it becomes easier to let go, block them and get on with life

I'm just glad you didn't ask me to name them as that could get me in a whole heap of trouble. And no, I won't, even if you do ask.

I just put those asshats on ignore, and my AN experience has gotten much better. Not as good as Thai Visa days, but a tolerable way to kill some time when I need a break from lesson prep.

And they all have one thing in common. You can't spell "hatred" without "red hat."

Good topic. Thanks. When a small mind labels me a communist, because I am a centrist dem, there is no room for discussion.

I have alot of conservative friends and family. There is kindness, love and understanding between us. We discuss things, but it is not personal. I may dislike Trump, but I don't dislike conservatives. We agree to disagree, but keep it civil. Those are my favorite kind of conservatives. Humane and decent. The labels say everything.

It says hatred, division and intolerance, ugliness and nastiness. Totally uncalled for, but not uncommon.

I hate dogs, snakes, confined places, Islam, piles and marmite. Make hate great again.

I also hate folks who leave sad or confused constipated looking emojis.

I was making good progress, but have slid back into my hatred so my doctor has increased my dosage.

It's an awful feeling that I wish would just go away , but it won't 😞

I feel for you. Psychological care here can be spotty at best. Just keep taking more meds,  in your case it cant hurt.

I would like to open a discussion on the nature of the emotion of hatred.

What is a person to do when one feels their heart filling up with hatred for a person/persons/group/race?

Does counseling work? Is medicine the panacea? Is change possible?

Has anybody here ever felt real hatred for something/someone, and if so, how did you overcome it?

I think this is a valid discussion as the world is full of hate right now that apparently love can only conquer - but what if you have no love in your life? Nobody/no-one..

What then?

regards,

bob.

Truth! One might even say that if you end up in that top 5 on the sidebar that you might want to ask yourself if you're just a serial AN pest.

Pain in the arse

I have found hatred to be corrosive. Better to walk away, and move on.

I despise a few posters. That means I look on them with contempt and disdain. They don't share my values.

I never thought I could feel such utter disdain for people I have never met. However, just from their posts I know I would have no time for them in real life. I have met people that have given the vibe that they have the same feeling for me. We can't all get on though, can we?

I completely agree - Its strange how there are those who I have never met, yet their every comment, and slightest of inputs to any thread presents such a void of any redeeming quality I've learned to utterly despise them - then as equally as my dislike for them surfaces, I'm doing something else and have forgotten them until I read another comment of theirs !

Perhaps a necessity for a handful of posters who express extreme delusion.

Agreed...  A change of scenery, nature is particularly cathartic... I find great peace and serenity in the mountains.

I really hate it when my beer isn't ice cold,   but I don't let it get to me, I just drink it and get another colder one.   Use that philosophy ...  :drunk:

This is good advice ...  best to forget the past if possible.  I hope you don't despise me Lacessit,  i am sorry if I said the wrong thing.

Actually,    You can't despise and look at someone with disdain just because they have a different view or opinion about something.

Your saying that if they don't agree with you then you dislike and despise them.

If we all just liked the same and never disagreed the world would be such a boring place  ??

It is easier for some to hate everybody.  Just don't act out on your hate.

I can accept people having different views to me.

However, when those views and opinions are unsupported by any facts or data, my BS radar goes on high alert.

I really start to despise posters who resort to personal attacks in lieu of any form of sensible argument. For them, put-downs is the only game in town.

Google Ted Mack. He's my idea of what a politician should be.
