Just take a long look at yourself to answer that question.

Eeeh? Talking to yourself and telling to look at yourself. That as the same time trying to reply to me referring to stupid does not sit well, does it? 😂

Are you a self hating white guy?

No I just hate idiots like Stefan.

And people who rush to defend him simply because of his whiteness.

What? I've been banned 3-4 times but I've lost count. How did you get away with it?? Hard to believe.

I think he is being a little bit economical with the truth. He may not have been banned under his current guise but he certainly was when he was posting as GOAT. Probably banned under some of his other names also.

Thailand should introduce public flogging for those who are smashed out of their mind either on drink of drugs. Initiate it a few times and this type of crime will come down quickly.

Ugly.

The original story (pattaya news) says the Thai man attacked first with his helmet?

Did that part get lost.

Key detail.

Indeed it did...

Khaosod English News (linked below): reports things quite differently and the Thai man is not painted in the virtuous light of innocent victim after all....

a) The Thai collided with the foreigner (i.e the accident was caused by the Thai man).

b) This led to an argument in which the Thai man struck the foreigner with a helmet.

c) This led to the physical altercation.

As I wrote, numerous times - there is always more to the story...

Oh... and as usual... delusional Malky is completely full of.... sh...

Again, not condoning the actions of the Foreigner (Swiss man) to flight at all - but this other news article highlights exactly why I'm sceptical of the initial reports we read on here as they are often so one sided and some unintelligent posters take them as 'fact' using the flawed information as an opportunity to express their bigotry.

https://www.khaosodenglish.com/news/2025/03/17/late-night-altercations-in-pattaya-thai-foreigner-clashes/

Quote

Tourist Police and Pattaya City Police arrested 35-year-old Mr. Stefan, a Swiss national who appeared in the video, at his residence in Soi Phra Tamnak, Pattaya. He admitted to being the person in the footage and explained that before the incident, the Thai man’s motorcycle had collided with his own motorcycle, leading to an argument during which the Thai man struck him with a helmet. This prompted the physical altercation seen in the video.

So... we have the Thai mans side of the story, which the media was very quick to distribute...

and now we have the 'Foreigners side of the story'...

... somewhere in the middle is the truth....

This highlights why I don't automatically believe the first article I read here as it very often contains the bias from whomever fed the reporters the first snippets of information and misses out critical facts and balance.

I agree. Something is surely missing from the story and the video shown. What would make the foreigner fighting this way. What happened before the video started.

It turns out the Thai caused the accident, an argument ensued and the Thai hit the foreigner with his helmet, the foreigner retaliated and fought back...

As pointed out - the video only shows the conclusion - and some idiots see that as the whole story to feed their bigotry.

Yes. Thanks for the update. I knew there had to be a catch to this happening that Thai media either ignored or twisted to make it appealing. It is a shame how media does this and yes, i agree about it feeding the public bigotry and inciting hatred. It also serves the government who read and watch the news and believe what they see as fact then act out on it against all foreigners in Thailand.

One of the positive qualities of Thai's is that in general they possess the intelligence and discernment not to judge individuals based on sweeping generalisations or media-driven narratives, but on individual merit and direct interaction. They seem well aware that the news often distorts reality, injecting bias and unnecessary dramatisation.

Wherever I go in Thailand, I find that Thais are consistently polite, respectful, or at the very least, indifferent, just as they are with one another.

This cultural approach fosters a refreshing sense of neutrality, free from the knee-jerk prejudice found elsewhere.

However, in areas with heavy tourist footfall, there is often an unmistakable air of contempt, likely a byproduct of overexposure. The old adage "familiarity breeds contempt" certainly holds true. This is further exacerbated by the fact that entertainment districts such as Pattaya and Patong tend to attract neither the finest foreign visitors nor the most upstanding local characters....

... The result? A volatile mix ripe for conflict which we read in the news daily.

i beg to differ. i think that the Thais want to read more about volatile foreigners and it sells. I think when something happens it is quick for the Thais to assume the foreigner is at fault and quick to react to it as well. Let's face it. Bad news gets more hits and shares. Even more so when there is a foreigner to point the finger at or blame.

The OP should post the other version of the story so opinions can vary.

well no, you are being paranoid.

The kao sod article was out before the Aseannow version. The Aseannow version was from the Kaosod story. You were quick to read the Aseannow version and that’s all.

Funny how you don’t believe the report when it doesn’t suit your narrative, but if it does you take it as gospel.

The farang caused the accident, made up the helmet story, attacked the thai and was fined by police as a result.

Good I'm glad you picked up on that...   It was written specially for you to 'bite at'...

Now you understand there are two sides to the story - something I mentioned all along...

And of course, I believe this could be possible too...  because I'm not a ignorant bigot who blindly ONLY believes one story that suits their rhetoric.

"somewhere in the middle is the truth" - I left it in bold so even a halfwit can't miss it... but you still managed to...

A significant part of the story was 'omitted'...    i.e. where the Foreigner claimed the Thai had caused the accident and then hit him with his helmet....

Why was that left out ????? - why not tell the whole story ?

Earlier on, people were suggesting there has to be more to this story than meets the eye...

You, though - committed the foreigner to the gallows based on the heresy of one side - typical of your unhinged, delusional, bigoted bias....   And this MalcomB is why everyone laughs AT your comments, because you are so delusional...

The video perfectly illustrates what pussies thais are. They will jump on someone who cannot defend himself, when it’s someone who could <deleted> them up (like in this video) they are scared <deleted>less and do nothing.

Doesn't the video show a large Western man attacking a small Thai guy who is on the floor ?

I think it depends where you are...

If you are in an area outside of the main tourist entertainment areas - the attitudes of Thai's towards foreigners simply ranges from Polite to Indifferent...    thats about it - we're nothing special, nothing negative either.

... and of course, bad news spreads...  people love gossip, the jucier the better, especially when there is a controversy...

... Most of the controversy discussed on this forum is created by people blindly delusional to what may really have happend as we rarely get the complete story...

100% agree...  We didn't get the full story which allowed the delusional idiot bigots to scramble to their soapboxes like cockroaches in a dumpster fire....
