They need to absolutely crush these guys and make an example of them. Utterly disrespectful and shameful behavior. Is it too much to ask for 1 year in jail?

Pair of the true idiots.

Got their shirt stolen, but came to steal something else.

“To the two men who stole from Sprout, we have reported you to the police. You still have the chance to return what you took or pay for it before facing legal consequences.

“It is shameful that you entered our space, our home, and acted so dishonestly. We work hard to create something meaningful, and your actions are deeply disappointing and unacceptable.

“If anyone recognises these two individuals or knows where they are staying, please inform us. They must return what they stole before the situation escalates. This is their final opportunity to do the right thing.”

Very kind of her to make such an offer.  It's a shame that they don't seem to have taken her up on her offer.

Wrong. You obviously don't understand what it cost to run a business.  This isn't person theft its theft fron a business

You are totally and blatantly wrong. You cannot calculate the loss based on the retail price, as it includes the potential profit. They don't sell things just to cover the costs, they sell things to make a profit, meaning to get more money than they spent.

Not sure what you saying as you flip flop in your explanation.

I am a business owner.  Its correct you include profit as a cost of doing business as  you have to invest money to buy and hold product to pay for fixed and operating cost of the business. With the loss of inventory like this new product will be required to replace missing product.

She lost much less, as you should take the manufacturing cost, not the retail price

If I buy some crap for 100 baht and put it on sale for 2000 baht and you steal it from me, how much do I lose?

@Dan O What do you think?

It takes a real sick mind and a bankrupt soul to visit a foreign country like Thailand, and rip off the local stores. Either these goons are incredibly desperate, incredibly stupid, or just doing it for sport. Regardless, they should be punished and the punishment should be such that they never forget it for the rest of their lives, and never consider doing something so incredibly stupid again.

I have some suggestions but they're probably not fit for these pages.

Wrong. To replace the lost item would cost just 100 baht.

You would have received 2000 Baht had the item been paid for , so you would have lost that 2000 Baht as payment wasn't made

Exactly, and the new product for them would cost much less than the retail price that they sell it at.

How do you know if someone would even buy it at this price? The crap cost 100 baht, and that's the amount that they lost.

Cut off one finger each and I bet you they never do it again!

If not that, a good flogging behind the woodshed by the local mafia may deter them in the future.

The shop owners response is pathetic calls the police to take action

Then says if they return or pay for the goods he wil not take action against them

They should both be jailed and deported

A message needs to be sent out

Stealing does not pay

In the UK employers instruct their shopworkers not to tackle shoplifters, mainly for their own safety.

German Models Caught in Koh Pha Ngan Shoplifting Scandal

A seemingly routine moment in a Koh Pha Ngan shop spiralled into controversy after two German men, presumed to be models, were caught shoplifting twice in one day. The incident unfolded at Sprout, a handcrafted home goods store run by Ploy, who resolutely took a stand against the culprits.

The debacle began on March 18 when the suspects first entered Ploy's store at around 1:30 p.m., discreetly taking a bottle of body oil valued at 550 Thai Baht (£12). Emboldened, they returned just hours later, snatching a 650 Thai Baht (£14) roll-on deodorant at 4:30 p.m. But their brief spree of alleged thievery did not go unnoticed.

Determined to hold them accountable, Ploy shared CCTV footage capturing their actions on her social media accounts. In a strategic move, she tagged their Instagram accounts, encouraging public scrutiny. By uniting Thai and English-speaking netizens in outrage, Ploy helped bring the incident to light.

Observers noted that given their apparent modelling careers and possession of designer items, financial necessity seemed an unlikely motive, making their actions all the more perplexing.

Following their discovery, one of the men reached out to Ploy, incredulously denying any wrongdoing even after she presented them with clear evidence.

Upon further engagement, they admitted to the theft but showed no signs of remorse, which galvanised Ploy to pursue justice. Reporting the incident to Koh Pha Ngan Police, she brushed aside suggestions to settle the matter privately and elected instead to press charges, seeking to set an example for tourists thinking of breaching local laws.

Plans to advance legal proceedings may pose severe consequences for the pair. If their failure to appear in court results in a conviction, they could face a ban from returning to Thailand. Meanwhile, their attempts to evade public scrutiny appear futile as they made their Instagram profiles private amidst mounting criticism.

As the saga unfolds, there are calls for Ploy to inform the modelling agencies linked to the duo, which could further jeopardise their professional standing, as integrity remains a key criterion in the fashion industry.

This incident underlines the critical importance of respecting local customs and laws, reminding foreign visitors that actions abroad carry tangible consequences. Ultimately, Ploy’s unyielding pursuit of legal action sends a potent message about accountability and respect, reported The Thaiger.

Crap? The items were stolen. You're OK with stealing low value stuff then? Your ethics might be as low as these two low life...

No one claimed those figures which are ridiculous by itself. So your just phishing to get out of the fact the value is the retail price

Well at least they don’t have man boobs like most of the shirtless tourists.
