Safe havens during songkran

Usually, stay at home. Go out in the evening when they stop drenching people.

Songkran 'can be' fun. If you have kids, it's a delight to watch them play. With a group of friends, it can be a blast, especially for tourists. Get drunk enough, and it's an mobile party!

If you don't want to play, do your daily chores in the morning, before 11am, then stay home. It's only a couple of days.

In Pattaya, they will keep throwing water even past 8pm.  Some places keep it up until 10 pm.  Rather annoying to get wet when your heading to an air cond. store.

I go to the airport, and fly to beautiful civilzed Japan. It's Cherry Blossom time. I don't look back.

Where do you hide to avoid the songkran madness?

In own apartment room.

Stay put, and don't go outside during the day if you don't want to get wet.

As easy as that.

There's apartment buildings in Bkk where the water throwing goes on, full steam / full blast / all day in the corridors of the apartment building.

stayed home last year mostly

Going out this time

According to the emojis, someone is confused about this post.  In fact, I've noticed that, regardless of the subject,  'usually' there is one (only) confused person among the various other responses to most of my posts. Many agree. Many disagree. Some love it. Some don't. But only one is confused.
I'd hate to think I'm causing you so much confusion. If you send me a message when this happens, I'll be happy to explain.

If only the forum software was reverted to original state then everyone could see

who gave whatever emojis  to anyone else and you could contact them by private message and have a big ding dong about it there instead of moaning about it in the public forums..but that's just what I think   for what it's worth ( not a lot)
