British Tourist's Thai Jail Ordeal: Forced to Drink Urine for Survival

Lewis Green, a 22-year-old traveller from Staffordshire, endured a harrowing ordeal after being incarcerated and mistreated in a Thai jail. Set against the backdrop of a two-month solo adventure in Thailand, Green's nightmare began on 24th January in Hua Hin, merely a day before he was due to return home.

 

Green's horrifying account unveils a narrative of being drugged, beaten, and starved while shackled in a squalid police cell. He alleged that he was forced to consume his own urine from the cell floor due to dehydration and lack of clean water. The young tourist, who sustained serious injuries including fractured ribs and a broken wrist, contends he was targeted and possibly spiked with the hallucination-inducing drug Dimethyltryptamine (DMT).

 

Reflecting on his grim experience, Green recalled, "They flooded the cell and I had no option but to drink the filthy water. I was handcuffed and left to deteriorate without food or care."

 

His ordeal reportedly extended beyond physical abuse. Speaking from the UK, Green explained that ultimately, he managed to buy his release for an eye-watering payment of £7,000 (307,000 Baht).

 

Green's arrest spiralled into chaos following a dispute at a cannabis dispensary. Though he vividly recalls arguing with the dispensary's owner, the precise details of his arrest remain blurred. Despite being cleared of taking illegal substances, Green expressed his disbelief over an unfounded car theft accusation, stating, "I didn’t steal the car. I was incapacitated and unaware of what was happening."

 

 

 

His release only came after further payments, including £4,500 (198,000 Baht) in fines and £1,700 (74,000 Baht) in compensation to the car's owner.

 

In the wake of Green's detention, his family mobilised rapidly. His father, Peter, flew to Thailand, while his mother, Colleen Wilding, liaised with the British Embassy and local police. "It was his dream trip," lamented Wilding. "But our fears grew when communication ceased."

 

Back in England, Green sought medical treatment, revealing not just physical injuries but also dramatic shifts in his mental state. This led to his temporary admission to a psychiatric hospital for detailed evaluation. reported DAily Mail.

Sounds pretty normal to me, he caused like 200K in damages alone so not that weird the total to get off would have been 300K then. The fact he blames he was spiked by a drugs or someone drugged him does not change the fact he is responsibility for what his body did. Always brits somehow too...

If he was unaware of what was happening, how does he know that he did not steal the car???

Tourists should have a mental-state evaluation before they are let into this country.  There seem to be too many nutters and mental snowflakes.

 

Science question: If you continually drink your own urine, is this an example of perpetual usage, where you no longer need to drink from an external source?  Thirsty prisoners want to know... 🙂

Like how long was he even in there to need and drink his own urine, I call it complete BS and just a stupid decision of himself to do if he did it. I would believe the food would be impossible to eat but not to not get any water at all.

Secondly it is an entire generation that is like this globally thanks to the lovely smartphones. Screening people won't solve it as 60% are like this lol.

Despite what he did or did not do, the conditions in Thai jail are terrible, many stories already we have read about it..Thailand pretends that they treat people decently, but the stories out of jail are terrible and I am wondering why Human Rights organizations don't do anything about this. People in prison are still people and being locked up doesn't mean you can mistreat them. And I know police officers do, as I had a foster kid that experienced the same, and the problem is they are not allowed to talk about it, because as they do, it will be more terrible situation for them... And everything is covered up.. look at Joe Ferrari.... and others  

 

And Thailand claims to be a Buddhistic country, with alcohol bans on Holy Days, but they could better respect life for every living being...

I'm sure you, as an adult, knows the amount of damage alcohol does compared to weed, and the deaths it causes daily, along with thousands of accidents where people are hurt and maimed. yes, wed does cause some problems, but there is no comparison to what alcohol does.

The thing they don't realize, is that one day they will hurt someone who has connections, and the storm that will return to them will do lasting damage. There are millions of Thais living in other countries, some that are targeted by people who have had relatives and friends hurt by officials in this country. Whatever happens to people here is known by others back home. Not a good thing to treat foreigners bad in any country.
