Does anyone else feel constantly bombarded by negativity, on the news, on social media, on TV etc?... Does anyone else feel like this is all planned? Maybe by the WEF, as there are studies that show when people are afraid they spend more.

 

Well I'm here to sprinkle a little positivity into your day.

My name is Don, not Bob. Actually I don't live in Thailand, I live in Japan but I do go to Thailand quite often for holidays etc.

 

I just love it there, especially in the low season when there aren't many tourists around.

I'm surfing while baking some Rye bread.  Looking for a place with a view to kill a few days, within 300 kms of the house.   Not having much luck, as been exploring the same area the past 7-8 yrs, and nothing perking my interest.

 

Can't go too far, too long, till the rains kick in, as the garden will get too dry, even with the self watering lines.  Along with things need to be picked when ready.

 

Might have to change tacks, and pick something 'in town' instead of surfside or in the hills.  With the smog, not much of a view anyway.

 

Come on rainy season

You are right and the reality is that a lot of us live really well here and we have a lot to be thankful for. For me, it is about quality of life, and my level of fulfillment on a daily basis, which I seem to have here in abundance. A big factor here, is the relatively light hearted attitude of the people. You just do not find that in the US, where most seem bitter, disenchanted, unfulfilled, and heavy hearted. And many are struggling to make ends meet, in an environment that is stupidly over priced. 

 

This is an entirely subjective topic, of course. But some of us have been fortunate enough to find an outstanding woman, who is delightful to be around, on a daily basis, always has our back, and is fun, smart, and lovely. For me, that likelihood of finding that back in the US, would be very low. So, that is a big factor for me.

 

Also you can live here on a relatively limited income, I can't do that in the US right now.

It's quite simply that outrage drives views.  Internet and social media changed everything.

 

It's quite a sad thing to consider, really.  It's a shame you couldn't find something more positive to talk about.  😢

I'm sorry if my post has disturbed you, but my next one will definitely be more upbeat!

 

I have just returned home to Kobe and I'm definitely glad to be back. Everything is so clean and orderly - I don't think I will ever visit Thailand again during high season, it was far too chaotic for me this time around. I think I will come back in September 🙂
