UK Police Arrest Two Men Suspected of Links to Hezbollah Cell

In a significant counter-terrorism operation, London’s Counter Terrorism Command has arrested two men believed to be connected to the Lebanese militant group Hezbollah. One of the individuals, a 39-year-old man from North London, is suspected of preparing acts of terrorism and being involved in funding terrorist activities. Authorities allege that he was also a member of a proscribed organization, a designation that includes Hezbollah under UK law.

The arrest took place on April 1, as part of a broader investigation focused on the activities of Hezbollah both in the UK and abroad. A second suspect, a 35-year-old man, was detained in west London on suspicion of membership in the same banned group.

The Metropolitan Police confirmed that the investigation is centered on Hezbollah, one of the most heavily armed non-state actors globally. Aligned with Iran, Hezbollah has been actively engaged in hostilities against Israel, particularly alongside the conflict between Israel and Hamas. Over the past year, the group has sustained considerable losses.

Searches related to the case were conducted at five different locations across northwest, southwest, and west London, as well as in Essex. Despite the nature of the investigation, authorities have stated that there is no indication of an imminent threat to the public.

Commander Dominic Murphy, who leads the Met’s Counter Terrorism Command, emphasized the importance of addressing terrorist activity regardless of where it is focused. “Terrorism and terrorists have a global reach and impact and the activities of terrorist groups overseas can harm communities here in the UK as well as causing devastation to those abroad,” he said. “Our investigation remains ongoing, but I hope that these arrests show we will take robust action against anyone here whom we suspect as being involved in terrorist activity regardless of whether their activity is focused here in the UK or elsewhere.”

The two suspects have been released on bail until mid-July, pending further investigation.

Released on bail????

I guess bail is only refused for serious offences like nasty social media posts.

What a joke. Let's hope they don't committ these attacks before July.

Released on bail. Looks increasingly as though the treacherous UK police and judiciary are combining to convert Britain into an Islamist state under Sharia law.

Incredible.  Again the west has given residency to many in this group and the costs involved with them is enormous not to mention airport security everywhere, They have an agenda and all have the same brain in one form or another.

I'm currently in the UK. Apart from being terrified to make political observation on social media, apart from the ugliness of pedestrian zones being shuttered of by giant concrete blocks (Merkel lego), apart from locking and chaining the door and never letting kids out to play due to grooming gangs, machete and blade merchants, apart from roads being incredibly dangerous due to so many driving on Zimbabwe and other bought licenses, apart from up to 50% inbred kids in some cities thanks to 1st cousin marriage. But it was well worth it as we now have a chicken shop every 10 meters.

Bravo sir Kier

Have you noticed how dim the lights are in the

airport,streets and shopping malls ?

as if they don't have enough energy  but  ohh no  it can't be it's the carbon zero save the planet frugality :cheesy:  or more  likely electricity/energy prices have gone through the roof  so tighten your belts !    or squeeze them till the pip squeaks.

You have my sympathy.

I hope you make it out alive.

Don't post anything pro British on social media until the plane has left the tarmac. Keir is watching.

Giving the suspects bail allows them to flee the country, which means no trial with its attendant publicity.

With the 2-tier sentencing guidelines I shouldn't be surprised they are released on bail.  Guess if it was a couple of white guys they wouldn't get bail?

Very little to do carbon zero/green policies. The wholesale price of electricity depends mainly on the most expensive resource used - which is usually gas.

And why would gas be the most expensive in the UK  with North sea oil and gas right there on the doorstep ?
