Decided to switch from Non Immigrant O-A Visa to Non-Immigrant O Visa.

I have lived in Thailand on extensions of stay on basis of retirement for c.10 years and not left Thailand for over 6 years. Was going to kill off my Non-Immigrant O-A Visa on a trip to the U.K. later this year but change of plan.

I now plan to go to Vietnam without a re-entry permit and kill off my Non- Immigrant O-A Visa and apply for Non-Immigrant O Visa from Vietnam using the E-Visa system and then apply for an extension of stay on basis of retirement within Thailand.

1. What do I put down as my permanent address on the E-Visa system application?

My Thai condominium is my permanent address but not sure I can use that.

I own a freehold condominium in Thailand so for the proof of accommodation in Thailand I can use copies of the blue book and the title deeds as the title deeds have my name on.

2. The E-Visa system asks for the Travel Booking Confirmation to be uploaded. Can I use my return flight receipt from Thailand to Vietnam showing my flight from Vietnam to Thailand sector?

3. Do I need to upload a flight out of Thailand within 90 Days  of arrival? I appreciate there are onward booking ticket agencies that can be used for this.

I know I can enter Thailand visa exempt and apply for a non-Immigrant O in Thailand and extend from there on basis of retirement but the process appears more long winded than getting my non-Immigrant O overseas and extending that on basis of retirement within Thailand

I already have the ฿800,000 in a Thai bank account used for my previous annual extensions.

Thanks in advance for any advice and feedback.

1. Not important. You can put your address in Thailand or even pp country.

As for the accommodation part of your question ...what you outlined is overkill but yes would work if can upload.

2. Yes. Just use your flight back to Thailand.

3. No

Note: you may wish to take some proof of funds in bank for the e-Visa application

Hopefully someone who has actually done the e-Visa in Vietnam can outline first hand experience.

The peace of mind plan B is that you are aware of the option to obtain the Non O in Thailand from visa exempt.

Any issue with the e-Visa you're still right to go
