Absolutely true, the US has some of the best restaurants in the world, I ate very well there, much better than in the UK.

In fact Rock Me Burgers in Chiang Mai is one of the best restaurants in the city of food, and it serves American fare.

Leos in Sisaket has good burgers. I see there's quite a few here that have a good reputation, and I'm guessing they're from the US and brought their skills from there, just like a few pizza joints. Haven't yet been to Chiang Mai but it's on the bucket list before I move back home.

Salmon, most plant based, kale etc. and fruit.    Looking at the above explains why most here are so grumpy. You are what you eat.

One of the best pizzas I had was in Philippines. In Cebu, one of those places that use the actual laws the Neapolitans came up with. Much better than a pizza I had in Venice, Italy.

Most of the better pizzas I've had in the NYC metro area had chefs that either came from Italy or had relatives that did.

Yes, it's very obvious that Rock Me Burgers is American through and through, from the menu, clearly must be American owners. Though the excellent chefs and servers are of course Thai.

Hit me up if you come down, I'll show you the good places.

Meat: The Original Superfood

Meat has a bad reputation. Most people think of meat, especially red meat, as dangerously unhealthy. However ....

Meat is the only nutritionally complete food

Animal foods (particularly when organ meats are included) contain all of the protein, fat, vitamins and minerals that humans need to function. They contain absolutely everything we need in just the right proportions. That makes sense, because for most of human history, these would have been the only foods available just about everywhere on the planet in all seasons.

Suggest you see the link for a list of nutritionately complete foods

https://www.hollandbarrett.com/the-health-hub/food-drink/guide-nutritionally-complete-food/

Dr. William Li, Harvard trained Heart specialist and diet-disease researcher has written a couple of books on this subject:  He has a list of "grand slammers" which should be included in one's diet regularly:

Fruits - Apple, Pear, Blueberries, strawberries, Watermelon

Veggies - Carrots, Kale BokChoy Mushrooms Chilipeppers

Nuts/Legumes - Walnuts, White beans, lentils, Chickpeas

Seafood - Shrimp, Mussels, Sea scallops, Sea Bass

Sweets - Dark chocolate

Beverages - Soy Milk, Matcha tea, Black tea, Coffee

Oils - Extra Virgin Olive Oil

There are some additional but these were on his first chart put out after the books which contain additional info on healthy foods to fight disease of all types!

Agree with Eggs & Meat  as the superfoods.  Can live on just those if having to.   Everything your body needs can come from animals; eggs, meat, dairy.

Broccoli sprouts and wheatgrass juice.

Meat, eggs, cheese (in moderation if an adult,) avocados and Kalamata olives. This is 80% of my diet.

What restaurant, as chains aren't the best as far as burgers go. Everywhere you go you see obese people, so that's not worth mentioning. Hopefully you're not talking about McDonalds.

McDonald’s, that’s it, the most famous and popular restaurant in America.

Presidents buy it for White House catering and billionaires eat it on their private jets.

Hugely popular

You have to remember that those early people only lived into their 30s. Not long enough to feel the effects of eating all that meat, or did they?🤔

That McDonalds is popular is a given. That they have good burgers is false. None of those listed are good burger joints. The only chains that serve decent burgers are Red Robins, Smashburger, Fatburger, Fuddruckers, In and Out and Five Guys. There are countless others that aren't part of a chain that have the best.

Along with grains, vegetables , Fruits and legumes. Can get by temporarily on those you listed, but unhealthy in the long run, besides all the false opinions you might have heard over the years.Again, looking at proof positive, those living in the blue zones, who live the longest in the best health.

What british food chains does the UK have? Nandos?

Do you feel like if i ate at nandos and posted my experience here that it would be representative of british food?

Meat pies!

Agree and I would add 'with mushy peas' if available.

I recall the old pie carts in Aussie cities when I was a kid (in my case in Adelaide).

Same meat pies sold today but with a big spoon of tasty mushy peas on the side.

In those days people spoke of 'pie and peas' as an item.

Personal choice of course.

Humans have existed before farming. so it's a given, that farmed food isn't needed.   I personally wouldn't go on a carnivore diet.

Keto-'ish', is a close as I'm going, and that's with supplements :cheesy:

I like my greens & fibrous veggies.  Had spinach omelet for brekkie yesterday, and will probably repeat today.  Damn stuff grows wild here, and free food is hard to pass up, especially when a favorite of mine.

Salmon and a big salad with cheddar cheese added to salad for dinner last night.

I had brownies last night for last snack.   Rare for me, but impossible to pass up when wife makes them.

Fruits are usually healthier ones, mostly berries, but can't pass up the figs out of the garden, every day, when producing, like now.  Damn tasty.

Hand full of roasted cashews for that 'walk in the kitchen' snack.   Though I burnt a batch yesterday, just a minute too long.  Added to compost bin.

Note to self ... set the timer next time, idiot.

Humans have eaten foods that were already here, as farming is a human thing while everything that's farmed today already was here in the wild. Keto-ish isn't bad, as you're still getting vitamins and other nutrients that meat alone doesn't have. I've been eating the same all my life, a variety of foods, little junk food, no fried anymore, vegetables, grains, fruits a, fish, meat, yogurt, nuts and seeds daily, going more and more towards the Mediterranean or blue zone diets.

London style Pie Mash & Liquor,................. Definately not Pattaya  ( restaurant )   style

I used to everything and anything when younger.  Actually, thinking back, not really that unhealthy, as food was much healthier back then.  Way to much pastries, BUT, also burned off all the excess.

Now, not so active, so prioritizing intake is more of a, well, a priority.

Needs to be more nutrient rich, and less sugar packed, means less 'added' sugar & starchy carbs for me.  Easy enough, and not really missed at all.

Get the wife to stop making them damn brownies would help ...

... bi-atch, one might thing she's tryin to bump me off :cheesy:

What a laugh, burgers have been made in dozens of countries for decades.

Yep McDonalds started in the US, so what, many folks rate McD hamburgers very low.

My personal preference is Burger King, but that's just my personal preference.

I've eaten wonderful burgers at a restaurant behind Ram Uni in Bkk, the owner is Thai, never been outside Thailand.

Superfoods

Crab Meat Stuffed Mushrooms

Grilled Tomahawk, Rare, Bordelaise Sauce

Asparagus with Hollandaise

Potatoes

Warm Pumpernickel Rolls with Butter

Gelato

A superfood, but it is the utility that sets it apart. A leftover slice .... toss an egg on, BREAKFAST!

an egg does NOT belong on pizza!

what the hell is wrong with you?

The chain restaurants, Burger King, McDonalds, Wendys, etc are no comparison to the indie restaurants anywhere. The ones here that people say are good, and that I've tried, are from other countries, mainly the US.

I see stuff like that, I can only imagine the psychic disturbances that would cause such a disgusting spectacle. Id rather watch Two Girls one Cup than even allow that in my house.

Is it true the meat pie was invented so you could have a complete meal in one hand and a beer in the other while watching football.

Sorry, my understanding of the word "superfood" is a super HEALTHY food.

But this is mostly people posting their favorite foods.
