British Fighter's Promising Career Ends in Tragic Overdose in Thailand

Sugar Ray Leonard wrote about his  drug use. He did not use when he was fighting.

Oscar De La Hoya admitted his alcoholism and drug use in 2011. He did not use drugs when he was fighting.

Both men are believable for the simple reason that they were drug tested prior to their fights. The drug use would have been picked up. Boxing may be corrupt, but the regulators draw the line on drug use because of the risk to the industry.

The two wannabe fighters in Thailand were not subject to the same blood tests  and screening as professional fighters.

Wasn't there a report that these drug tests were often and easily bypassed... even Tyson covered up cocaine use?

  • How can a drug abuser have been a promising fighter? He was probably here on an Ed visa, just another amateur kick boxer, and drug addict.

That's what the warriors-on-drugs won't tell you: the percentage of drug deaths they cause.

Highly speculative and sounds like nonsense!

This whole disaster is about them coming to Pattaya from Hua Hin for ketamine. Seems the Australian Jayson had self isolated himself from Pattaya by living and training in Hua Hin (by his own admission)  I'm sure weed, meth and girls are available in Hua Him. So there they are in Hua Hin, and all that is not enough,??  Again, weed , alcohol, meth and girls not enough for a party?? So they schlep over to Pattaya for the ketamine on a Tuesday night. Next day one is  gone and other one in coma.

The Vogue Hotel is on 3rd road !  Who comes to Pattaya to stay on 3rd Rd?  Would expect guys in their 20s to be along Beach Rd . So no view or girls. Then just stay in room to get wasted on ketamine. He got too many fights already. Brain damage accomplished 👍

This guy did drugs and died. It does not matter what his career was, as now he is dead.

Clenbuterol (minimise body fat)

EPO (improve VO2 max)

** Anabolics ** (build more muscle)

amphetamines (stimulants, appetite suppressant)

Lots of new stuff coming out of China all the time.

The list goes on. All available at your local Muay Thai gym and all come with risks. The risk increases dramatically when these PEDs are taken in conjunction and are not taken under strict medical supervision.

Well it isn't. The more the police win the war on drugs, the more potent the drugs have to be made. Because they are easier to smuggle in smaller quantities. That is why there is such a big problem in North America.  They started winning the war on heroin. So the drug business opted for fentanyl. In Europe, the more bulky and safe Afghan heroin can still get in over land. So way less people in Europe die from fent overdoses.

Why do they even consider to become fighters when they need drugs to live?
