Hegseth Said to Have Shared Attack Details in Second Signal Chat

Featured Replies

  • Popular Post

Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth shared detailed information about forthcoming strikes in Yemen on March 15 in a private Signal group chat that included his wife, brother and personal lawyer, according to four people with knowledge of the chat.

Some of those people said that the information Mr. Hegseth shared on the Signal chat included the flight schedules for the F/A-18 Hornets targeting the Houthis in Yemen — essentially the same attack plans that he shared on a separate Signal chat the same day that mistakenly included the editor of The Atlantic.

Mr. Hegseth’s wife, Jennifer, a former Fox News producer, is not a Defense Department employee, but she has traveled with him overseas and drawn criticism for accompanying her husband to sensitive meetings with foreign leaders.

https://www.nytimes.com/2025/04/20/us/politics/hegseth-yemen-attack-second-signal-chat.html

So, Mike Waltz created a chat group and  accidentally shares classified info with someone not cleared for and Hegseth created a chat group and shares info with uncleared people on purpose. From his own private phone.

NY Times interview with incoming Chief of Staff Ms. Susie Wiles 09 JAN 2025 via https://archive.ph/lDmIO

Ms. Wiles insists she is not concerned about Mr. Trump’s most provocative cabinet picks, including Pete Hegseth, his choice to run the Defense Department. Mr. Hegseth, a military veteran who has been accused by a woman of sexual assault, which he has denied, has no experience leading an agency of nearly three million people.

“That’s what staff is for,” Ms. Wiles said briskly. “It’s our obligation to give him people that understand the business of national defense.” To Ms. Wiles, Mr. Hegseth is one of Mr. Trump’s desired “disrupters” of the status quo, just like his choice of Tulsi Gabbard as director of national intelligence and Mr. Kennedy as the secretary of health and human services.

The president-elect, she said, “would rather have a disrupter at the top and buttress the disrupter with people who know the business or the agency. That’s the idea. And so if you think of it that way, it explains all of them.”

In the SIGNAL leak about Yemen 6 weeks ago,   Trump of course knew it had been mistakes of some of his subordinates  and help all to fend off the attack,  and Trump succeeded to secure their jobs

And again now ?   this defense secretary may fall.

Speaking at a press briefing, (Karoline) Leavitt emphasized that the ongoing military operations have inflicted severe damage on Iran’s proxy network and disrupted its ability to project power in the region.

“These Houthi strikes have been incredibly successful,” Leavitt stated. “The last time I was at this podium, there were more than 100 successful strikes. There have now been over 200 successful strikes against the Houthis. Iran is incredibly weakened as a result of these attacks."

Incredibly disruptive.

Didn't Leavitt  and Trump  insist that these claims were a fabrication, all lies? They would not lie would they?

Trump should do himself a favour and get rid of the menace Hegseth before the other damage leaks out.

The drunk is as good as gone.Even the conman will not put up the drunks continuing  cockups.

The other (or another) line of attack is that the raids were incredibly successful so why is the left-leaning press making such an incredible deal of it.

Incredible. And now

Three Pentagon officials fired on Friday after being placed on administrative leave amid an ongoing investigation into information leaks at the Defense Department say they are “incredibly disappointed by the manner in which our service at the Department of Defense ended.”

Incredibly imaginary ... or maybe imaginarily incredible.

One would hope. Trump gives people a chance and backs them, and then cuts them loose when they screw up.

Well let see.

Trump won.

The Houthis are on the Run

The Iranians are on the Run

The Market is back up

The border is closed

The Supreme Court is scheduled for May 15 on Injunctions

The scum is being deported.

We are all still here.

I think my prognostications are far more accurate than yours.

Is it that guy you claim you pay for it that told you the market is back up? May look for a more credible one, or stop making up you have imaginary money to trade on the stock market.

I think my prognostications are far more accurate than yours.

What prognistications of mine are you referring to?

I supported Harris but I never predicted her victory. In fact, I expressly wrote several times that I didn't know who was going to win. The polls were too close. And I haven't claimed she really won but was cheated out of her victory. I leave that kind of denialism to the deluded and the dishonest. Like Pam Bondi, the current AG

Are the Houthis on the run? Got some evidence for that?

As for the Iranians, yes they're in big trouble. But what has Trump got to do with that?  His administration is in the process of attempting to negotiate a nuclear deal with them. I didn't predict that. I don't recall you predicting that either.

Is the market back up? Maybe from the depths but still not where it was. And it only recovered to some extent because Trump backed down on his tariff threat. We know that he backed down because he said so. The bond market spooked him. That was after Bessent said that the bond market had nothing to do with it.

Actually, the border ended up being pretty much closed during the last months of Biden's term. Thanks to the Mexican govt.

Did I predict that the Supreme Court wouldn't be ruling on Trump's executive order re: birthright citizenship. What do you think a hearing signifies? That it's going to support Trump? How could it avoid hearing the case?

As the story develops about the "scum" it seems that in most cases the evidence against them turns out to be insubstantial.

Of course, if by "scum" you mean undocumented aliens in general, then it's going a lot slower than Trump expected. A lot slower. And he's not happy about it.

I just noticed this detail in a photo of Hegseth:

He's wearing an American flag handkerchief! So when he has to blow his nose, he's going to do it on the flag? This seems to me even more disrespectful than burning the flag. Which raises the question: Why does Pete Hegseth hate America?

White House Responds to Pete Hegseth Second Signal Chat Reports

The White House has insisted no classified information has been shared on messaging platform Signal after reports emerged that U.S. Secretary of Defense, Pete Hegseth, shared information about upcoming military strikes in a second group chat that included his wife and brother...

"No matter how many times the legacy media tries to resurrect the same non-story, they can't change the fact that no classified information was shared," White House deputy press secretary, Anna Kelly, said in a statement carried by multiple outlets.

https://www.newsweek.com/white-house-pete-hegseth-signal-group-chat-wife-brother-lawyer-donald-trump-2062012

This is what's called a non-denial denial.Nowhere did the NY Times say the information was classified. And nowhere does the Deputy Press Secretary accuse the Times of lying, The Administration is free to classify information how it wishes. But clearly, there was no need for Hegseth to share this information with his wife and brothers.. And it was obviously sensitive.

The pilots who would be flying those F-18s into harm's way at the times noted beforehand by Hegseth in his Signalchats would hope their departure time was classified.

Had someone hacked his private phone (which he used in this second gaffe), the info could have been relayed to the Houtis or Iranians, and knowing where the carrier was and the intended targets, they would have had plenty of time to intercept the F-18s.

Hegseth, one has to assume, has lost all confidence in DoD pilots. Their missions are tough enough without someone boasting to friends and family about when the pilots---not Hegseth---will be going into harm's way.

Not sure if POTUS has the cojones to admit a mistake and fire the clown, but certainly there is going to be a lot of pressure to do so, particularly by the men and women who pilot the US' fighter aircraft.

It was important for Sec. Hegseth's wife to be on the call else how else would she know when to expect him for dinner?

Sharing intel with trusted wife = toys out pram meltdown.

Sharing intel with a Chinese Communist party spy in a honey trap operation = perfectly fine and no further action required.

Gotta love liberal "logic". If anyone takes these clowns seriously after cheering on Swalwell you need to give your heads a wobble.

There was no evidence that Representative Eric Swalwell shared intelligence with a Chinese spy.

Between 2011 and 2015, a suspected Chinese intelligence operative named Christine Fang (also known as Fang Fang) developed relationships with several U.S. politicians, including Swalwell. She participated in fundraising activities for his 2014 congressional campaign and helped place an intern in his office. In 2015, the FBI provided Swalwell with a defensive briefing about Fang, after which he cut off all contact with her.

In May 2023, the House Ethics Committee concluded its investigation into Swalwell’s interactions with Fang, determining that no further action was necessary and finding no evidence of wrongdoing.

(She also engaged with Rep. Tulsi Gabbard)

Or its not a hankie, but he's using the top Bangkok tailor's tip of pulling out the pocket lining to give the impression of a snot rag. The irony is that people of his persuasion are the first to whine about "virtue signalling". Bet his pee stained boxers are stars and stripes, and his smelly socks are Old Glory.

The whole Signal story is even more egregious because Hegsteth isn't a mere naive simpleton politician who has loose lips. Until recently, he was a serving officer in the US military, even if it was just part time, so was Waltz and, to an extent, Vance. In uniform, these men would have had it hammered into them the need for OpSec, and would have been aware of approaches adversaries and potential adversaries would take to gather data, that would shock the general public.

For instance, we know about the fitness apps that were used to precisely locate secret US special forces fire bases in Syria.

Now the UK MOD has banned Chinese cars being parked anywhere near bases, because of the data being collected by these cars. Oh, terrible Chinese, right? Well, Tesla cars are now banned from Chinese government car parks. We are all at it.

Anyone who follows Bellingcat now how much data there is out there on us. Huge amounts.

Hegseth, Waltz and Vance know all about this.
