  • 24 May plus six months is 24 November. On the date of arrival in Thailand, your passport will have a remaining validity of six months and 22 days.

  • Should be no problem, he's got nearly 7 months when he flies.

  • Suggest you obtain a new pp. Is there option for "express service" for pp renewal.   Having stated that it's the airline that might have an issue with the "6 month rule" not immigration

When you upload the photo, they give you a rating of how acceptable it is with "good" being the best. My photo was at the top end of "good" so I'm hoping all go's well. Anyhow they have received my old passport; now the waiting and nail-biting begins 🙂

That's the same online rating that my uploaded passport pictures obtained. They were both accepted, no issues whatsoever.

Now, stop biting your nails and have a drink.

Well, there can be no question that it is RUBBISH when it comes to providing duff info on passport validity requirements for entering Thailand on its website, I think! Very much germane to this thread, I think!!

I used same-day service at Durham passport office last week, took 4 hours.

I also used the 1-week service at Durham passport office for my second passport last week, it took 3 days.

So does this mean that you have now finally given up on the lousy procedures for renewing UK passports from Thailand, of which you were fulsomely singing the praises as being the very best thing in passport renewals since sliced bread when they were inflicted on us back in 2014?

With three very successful and trouble free renewals plus a couple of new passport applications at VFS since their inception, I have absolutely no reason not to sing their praises.

This time, I just happened to be passing through on the way back from work in South America and Durham is a charming place in the spring.

But I guess gurners gotta gurn, even if it's only every ten years or so.
