Featured Replies

It was there yesterday, full of ads for restaurants and silly questions -

Is it just me?

Chiang Mai locals and ex-pats (roughly can't swear to the exact name)  - seems to have disappeared. Not the most urgent problem in the world I suppose.

Expats & Locals Living in Chiang Mai which also happens to be the title of this post. It was there one day with 50k+ members disappeared the next (to me at least).  As it was 90% drivel I was just wondering what happend to it.

To anyone who is the slightest bit interested "Chiang Mai Expats & Locals was removed due to an automated error by Facebooks System. We have re-created the group that has been operating for 9 years en-counting. " Case closed.

So you can spend 9 years building something only to have it closed down forever due to an error.

No thanks! Never.

What can you redeem the points for? What are those points worth?

Who freaking cares. Go fetch yourself some ego points so you can sleep better at night. Maybe you can get a DEI bunny badge at your next bunny tail party.

That Facebook page was the direct opposite of this forum. Too much positivity and female energy. Yuck.

Er - the little things on either side of the sentence are called 'quotes' and are used in reported speech - i.e. when SOMEONE ELSE is talking

He can't try the suicide prevention hotline... wasn't it shut down by Trump, or was it Musk? Along with many other health and human services that our taxes paid for. We paid for them because we needed them. We wanted them. They worked for us. Now they are gone.

It is up and open again, although you have to rejoin. As for 'positivity & female energy'  I guess many here prefer CM Facebooks sites with 'negativity & trans energy'   . I am not joking about that comment, BTW.

Cheers

Yep, thanks I saw it was back and I re-joined.

And promptly left as it is FULL of ads. I've joined "CHIANG MAI EXPATS" instead which has a 'no-ads' poiicy.

And not so many kooks asking how to get their chakras re-aligned it seems.

I’m pretty sure it’s still in operation, try giving it a call and save yourself.

Well! That certainly explains why foreign countries are setting up toll-free numbers that Americans can now call to reach Suicide Prevention Hotlines.

But perhaps it's just to cover the overflow of suicide calls anticipated because of the current administration's policies.
