How did he have a choice to avoid Russia invading his country?

By stopping the attacks on ethnic Russians in donbass, not trying to join nato, and going to peace talks in April22.

Nope, I just don't make conspiracy claims without credible links.

Hahaha old claims and misleading statement. The donbas issue go back to before 2014 but escalated then because russia was supporting the separatist to fight in Ukraine.  Nothing wrong with them wanting more protection given that russia invaded Crimea and was signalling more land grabs coming.   The peace talks were a joke and would not have changed anything

You need to check your statements for truth and not project you ignorance to blame others.

The major problems and  conflict in donbas started around 2014 with Russian back separatists fighting against Ukraine. It continued off and on before the 2022 invasion. That was not the catalyst for the invasion by any means. There are others reason for Russian invasion that had nothing to do with anything other than Russia seeing an opportunity to take more land over

Is that from CNN, MSDNC or direct from Victoria Nuland?

I'm not a big fan of Oliver Stone as a documentarian but watch his 2016 movie "Ukraine on Fire".    Don't watch it for his analysis.  Watch it for the historical facts he presents.  This kerfuffle didn't start in 2022 or 2014.  It was decades in the making.

I would call the deportation of thousands of illegal alien criminals a large win. Also effectively closing the entire southern border to illegal crossings is a yuuuge win! Oh, and attracting trillions of dollars in foreign investment to the US. And starting to refill the Strategic Petroleum Reserve, which Biden disastrously drained for pure partisan political advantage.

But yeah, other than those very minor details, nothing to talk about.

Shh... you are not supposed to state facts the Trump hater and far left Dems don't want people to talk about.

Nice try at deflecting. I said the major issues started in 2014 but yes things were going on with Russia well before that, and not just there but in a number of regions. If you want we can go back to before 1991 when Ukraine was split off of SSR. I was addressing your comments you and Frank posted claiming I thought it all started in 2022.

Zelenskyy was a comedian, and this might be his best joke yet.

The minerals POTUS seeks are in areas currently under Russian control, not Ukraine's.

As I understand it, the mineral deposits are in both countries and it's Trump's plan to jointly exploit those resources with Russia.  I'm not sure Zelenskyy will have much to say about it when all is said and done.

I agree with you. I havent seen the movie you mention. However, a book caught my eye in the  Asia Books store in Pattaya. It is called "Overreach" and written by Owen Matthews. The book got good reviews and reveals a lot of historical events that have led up to the current situation. I havent read it all yet, it takes some digesting, but some may be interested in getting insight on the political skullduggery that has occurred in Ukraine, and the former USSR and its components. 522 baht.

Trump hasn't blackmailed anyone, those menerals were what the US funded Ukraine for all along, you just didn't have any clue about that until it Trump said it out loud.

Do you remember when he did the same about Syria, and the oil? 'we've secured the oil' until that point every sheep thought it was about saving the Syrian people, or perhaps you didn't care about thIngs back then

A lot of utter drivel as ususal. But do tell us how you feel about this deal, Dmitry? What's the view from Moscow?

Since we are in the Ukraine war sub-forum, I wonder what the penalty is for spineless Russians who fled to Thailand to talk a lot of smack they were too cowardly to act upon.  Death penalty, you think?

So you knew about the 12T or minerals Ukraine sits on before Trump mentioned it?.. I doubt it.

The longer the war was funded the less Ukraine had to bargain with, the US funding was never about Ukraines people or sovereignty.

Trump is a winner.

I am not a bit surprised.

Also, most dumb politicians, these days, don't know how to deal with the commies.

I knew a lot about Ukraine, Crimea and Ukrainian quislings of Russian origin. I had a couple of Ukrainian colleagues whose families had had to flee when the Green Men (Russian orcs) flooded into Crimea so heard about it all the time.

Remember that, Dmitri?

He could have made them quit killing ethnic Russkies in the Donbass after the US orchestrated a coup.

But it's impossible to have a meaningful discussion with anyone who thinks this kerfuffle started in 2022.

It's impossible to have a meaningful discussion with anyone who thinks the US orchestrated a coup, or that Ukraine was simply killing Russkies in the Donbass for fun, or who believes any of the other transparent Kremlin lies.

Dmirtri refuses to even consider the little green men existed, or that they were Russian soldiers, or Shoigu himself when he admitted it.  (Also, he has no idea who Shoigu is.)  He is literally the only person on either side of the conflict who believes this.

"Both countries"? What is the other country -- the United States?  What other country could be in the equation if they're jointly talking about mineral rights?

What a stupid, loser response.  And Impulse didn't answer the question.  He deflected.  I can tell you where the claim came from, and I'm sure you're already familiar with him -- it was made up by a guy named John Mark Dougan, who fled to Russia after failing spectacularly at life in America.  It was then amplified by Kremlin websites and spoon fed directly into the mouths of guys like you, who lap it up eagerly and plead for more.  It never happened.  The guy who owns the yachts said they were never for sale and he never sold them.  But I'm sure it's the LAMESTREAM MEDIA who claims that and JOHN DOUGAN has all the facts.   Here he is  🤣.  You're welcome!  Order it from Amazon and it can be the first book you've ever read on the subject.  🤡BadVolf: The true story of an American cop's retaliation against a corrupt system of justice and politics, forcing him to seek political asylum in ...
