A road crash claimed the life of a 39-year-old man in Samut Prakan province,  after his motorcycle crashed into the rear of a car and he was then fatally run over by an 18-wheeler lorry.

The incident occurred at approximately 17:00 on Thepharak Road’s outbound frontage lane at kilometre marker 14 in Bang Chalong Subdistrict, Bang Phli District. Officers from Bang Kaeo Police Station, along with rescue workers from the Ruamkatanyu Foundation, responded to the emergency.

At the scene, police found the body of Mr. Phinyoh, a resident of Non Sila District, Khon Kaen province. He was lying face-down with severe injuries to the head, believed to be caused by the truck’s wheels. His motorcycle was found nearby, toppled over on the road. A Volvo saloon and an 18-wheeler lorry were parked a short distance away.

The woman driving the car involved in the accident was visibly shaken. She told officers she had been driving normally and came to a stop in a queue of traffic when the motorcycle crashed into the rear of her vehicle. The impact caused the rider to lose control and fall into the path of the lorry, which was unable to stop in time.

Emergency personnel transported the body to Ramathibodi Chakri Naruebodindra Hospital for a post-mortem examination. Police have launched an investigation and will proceed with legal procedures. The victim’s family has been notified and will arrange for religious rites.
