A crash claimed the life of a 21-year-old man after his motorcycle collided with a bicycle during wet weather in Khlong Luang district, Pathum Thani.

Police Lieutenant Colonel Wirawat Niyomsap, an investigator with Khlong Luang Police Station, received a report of a road crash involving a motorcycle and a bicycle on Leab Khlong And 1-2 Road, in front of the Tha Khong Municipality Learning Centre in Khlong Nueng Subdistrict.

Officers responded to the scene alongside a forensic team from Thammasat University Hospital, local traffic police, rescue personnel from the Tha Khong Municipality, and volunteers from the Poh Teck Tung Foundation.

At the scene, the deceased motorcyclist was identified as Mr. Krirkphon, aged 21, whose body was found beside the road near his overturned motorcycle. A damaged bicycle was also found nearby. The cyclist, Mr. Wichit, aged 55, sustained injuries and was transported to Kasemrad Pathum Thani Hospital by emergency services.

Mr. Wichit recounted the moment of impact, stating he had been cycling to work and was unaware of the motorcycle’s approach before it struck the rear of his bicycle.

The victim’s mother reported that her son had left their home in the Eua-Arthorn KM.34 housing project and was en route to his job at Lotus’s Khlong 4. It had been raining at the time of the crash, which likely caused slippery road conditions.

Lt. Col. Wirawat confirmed that evidence was collected at the scene, and the body was transferred by the Poh Teck Tung Foundation to the forensic department at Thammasat University Hospital for further examination.

Authorities are continuing their investigation into the circumstances surrounding the fatal crash.
