Another Lazada scam story

Gee, I thought the tarrifs were paid by the seller, not the buyer. That's what I've heard anyway.

Both.   My company will pay an extra 4.5993834 percent, and then I'll mark up the product by 39348334343 percent.   Let's go!!!!

Buying clothes and especially shoes online is not recommended   regards worgeordie

  • Sounds naive. Buy clothing online. So how much baht are we talking here.  On gift to smaller Thai friend and move on.

  • Naive to buy clothing with advertised sizes? I guess you also consider it is naive to buy electronics, toys, food or whatever else is listed online? Thanks for blaming the victim

I am surprised how much sympathy AN members feel for a rotten online scammer.

Maybe I will open an online shop "Lorry's AN specials" and I will sell every gadget under the sun with a 50% discount for AN members*

*shop policy: pay first, complain later, get back nothing

It's not a scam. It is just the best Lazada suppliers can do with the people they hire. I get the occasional same problems with Amazon.  Every time I get so angry from poor customer service somewhere, my friend always set me straight, "If they were any smarter, they wouldn't be working here".

I feel the OP's pain.

It's actually one of my hobbies to try on underwear, have a good scratch and rummage then put them back.

Covid and going fully online was a nightmare.

Lazada is a minefield. I now only buy small items from official Lazmall shops.

Ordered a set of 7 magnetic screwdrivers, the most useful one was missing. Ordered an 'upgrade' mosquito zapper, they sent the basic model. Both times they offered a partial refund, I only needed to send them my bank account number and phone number...I declined and just wrote it off.

Yes obviously I tried them on, and they should be 31"  unstretched and 33" stretched, as are the ones I ordered from another seller 6 months ago, and were advertised 30 - 32. They are 30" unstretched.

Current order is 26", which means they should have to stretch 7" to get to 33"

More to the point, how do they feel after you tried them on?

There's your answer

At least it isn't over a 59 baht tin of baked beans, like you did a while ago, and probably still.

How do you know what the price of the order was? Just another obnoxious comment from our resident cheap charlie.

These rules are not new and it's easy to check BEFORE you order something.

Lesson learned.

Next.🤗

Can you post a screenshot of those rules, where it says that the seller has 4 days to decide if he allows sending the parcel back?

There is a rule which says he gets time to inspect the returned items, which is not the topic of this thread.

The seller has the right to investigate and confirm the error before refunding or sending the correct item.

Maybe try to comprehend what is written in the OP. This is not about the seller inspecting the items.

I would add to this, nothing for which you can't afford to absorb any loss.

You didn't understand. Whenever you return an item to Lazada it will be checked and given time for the seller to accept or reject. Normally 3-5 days. The return will be shown on your wallet/account/credit card

Yes, YOU still don't understand what the OP is about

It is not about the seller checking the returned item. The seller is allowed 4 days to decide if he agrees the item to be sent back

After 4 days the seller didn't respond, and on May 14 Lazada allowed me to send back the items, while I'm out of the country.

That's not how it worked recently for a Lazada order we did.  We ordered a tv and got, instead, a small package of cheap stickers.  Obviously a scam--the sticker order # matched exactly the order # for the tv.  We called Lazada and reported the scam.  Lazada sent a delivery person to pick up the package of stickers.  No 4 day waiting period, although I think Lazada holds payment to a seller for 4 days in case there is a problem--and a good thing they do.

The tv seller wasn't involved at all and had no say as to whether the item could be sent back.  Once the sticker package got back to Lazada, they could see it matched the tv order # and the charge was refunded to our credit card.

It’s entirely about seller inspecting items. Whenever return/refund is requested it is subject to seller’s approval which in turn requires items to be sent back to seller to investigate which in turn will inform Lazada whether they will accept and remedy the situation which in turn takes a few day which in turn why Lazada cannot accommodate his request to remedy the situation immediately as he had wished. For me to explain it again and in more detail suggest one thing about your level of ….😂😂😂

That's not the way it worked with a recent return my spouse and I did.

It is not.

I opened the return request on May 11 and wasn't allowed to select a shipping method until May 14 at 11pm.

Indeed, what I experienced this time was not the procedure with previous returns.

From the pictures I added in the return request it was clear that I have not received what I ordered, and I contacted support to inform them that I would leave the country, but they insisted that I waited 4 days before I could select a return shipping method

Your first mistake?  Buying underwear in Thailand.  If you want farang underwear, order from Amazon. Expensive?  Yeah, but they fit.

No it was not. I ordered underwear from Lazada previously and the sizes were as advertised, but that item was now out of stock.

Your next step would be to file a report with the police.  So I can see why there was no problem refunding that.  After which I probably would have still file a report with the police for fraud.

Tariffs - Yes they are but then the seller passes them on to the buyer. Sales tax is a different matter.

I don't think it's a "scam".

It's their "policy".

Maybe people return items too frivolously for no apparent reason, hence the delay.

Or maybe people buy stuff to use it once, knowing that they plan to return it, and abuse the return policy.

I've heard of this happening with Amazon.

I ordered Davidoff .

They sent me another brand . The seller was adamant, that it was perfume.( within  weeks,I returned it and got a refund from Lazada ).

To the Op ! Sorry for your misfortune but you made a huge mistake ordering

online just within days of traveling.

Ordered a set of men's shorts from them.

Ordered size XL which is advertised as 31-33 inch.

image.png.a72c9ddd5774de95b05a98908cb7b7df.png

Items arrived and it is size 26 so not just a small scam (pun intended)

Since I'm travelling overseas tomorrow, I quickly opened the return request.

Great was my surprise that after you have filed the return request, the seller get FOUR days to decide if he will accept the items, which are clearly not as described.

Contacted Lazada and explained my situation, but it is as if you are talking to a wall, because they just tell you to wait 4 days, and if seller doesn't respond, we will approve the return.

Yeah right, I will ask the flight to wait for me 4 days. Never seen a platform where the scammer get  days to decide if you are allowed to send back the items with which he scammed a customer.

To put salt in the wound, Lazada just emailed me that they have added tracking to the return request, so I know when the 4 days have passed and I can then proceed to ship the items back.

Are they plain stupid or just a professional scam organisation?

Op - Not a Scam by any means - its just a facet of Purchasing Clothes online (usually from Chinese vendors).

I have been caught out in the past in exactly the same manner and have learned by the lesson.

What I do:

1) Buy the L, XL, XXL

2) Send back whatever doesn't fit me

- I've used this method numerous times and never had an issue.

What you can do:

1) Repack the items.

2) leave them in front of your house for collection by Courier.

2) leave them with condo reception for collection by Courier.

This is a very common issue, I've even had vendors cancelling when purchasing christmas presents for nephews etc a few weeks before travelling home, leaving no time to get replacements.

In short, dealing with the Lazada and Shopee Vendors for anything such as clothing is nothing other than a crapshoot - We've no idea of size or quality, but I'm also often surprised as often as I am left aghast at how an XXXL can be too small for me while an L could sometimes fit a Gorilla.

if your so stupid to buy shorts on-line then that's your first mistake.

how much are we talking ...  500 baht max ...     ??

Just forget it and move on .....   you were one of the one's  that said everything was great here remember. lol:burp:

I moved to Shopee long time ago, just gave Lazada another try, hoping they had sorted their sh!t in the meantime.

Lesson learned, it got worse.

I know you can't trust XL - L etc, but here the size was advertised in inches

Both Lazada and Shopee are the same - its the same vendors using a different platform thats all.

Quite often they both have different named shops with exactly the same products at different prices, chose the cheaper price and they cancel the order - as if now they've hooked you in, you'll go to the higher priced same item a few days later.

Don't sweat it - its a facet of dealing with online shopping here thats all...  No biggie, just understand this happens.

Only that in this case the supposed size in inches was mentioned.

I know XL or XXL or whatever are up to interpretation, but there is no interpretation possible in how many inches 31 inches should be

Are that the empty beer bottles of what you consumed in the last 30 minutes?

I've had exactly the same issue - its frustrating having to wait, and in your case you can't afford to wait.

IF they reject sending the parcel back - Lazada will refund you - thats all.

The only reason this could be different is because this is an underwear item and could be a hygiene issue.

BUT - I've been in the same situation numerous times, no scam, the vendor just needs a few days as you are not the only customer they deal with.

I'm sure (or rather my guess) is that they'll ok the return - then you can prep it. BUT, you'll need a 'friend' on this side to deal with it.

(i.e. give them the package, and once you get the return label - send it to them to print and drop off at the nearby delivery service centre).

Thanks for blaming the victim

You're not a victim, you're a customer who was sent the wrong size, not scammed, and the return process is underway as per Lazada's system.   That you chose to make a trip outside Thailand is not Lazada's issue, it is yours, why should they change their process?
