However, these figures might be understated due to potential delayed reporting, which could significantly increase the numbers.

Or these figures could be made up or exaggerated or not even relevant to the normal population.

People fall one side or the other of the line of believing this nonsense and panicking. Get your umpteenth jab, wear your face nappy and please leave the rest of us alone.

As you mentioned in another thread….it was probably eggs for breakfast.

I'd be more interested in the ages of the fatalities, and their comorbidities.  Old people die every day.  It only stands to reason that some of them had Covid that day, too.  Did they die with Covid, or as a result of Covid?

Yes seems they are very reluctant to reveal these pertinent facts..wonder why ?

I'd also like to know how many times these fatalities have received

Covid-19 jabs..but  that would "infringe on their privacy"  so we will never know.,,how convenient    there were no such concerns about knowing vaccination status just a short while ago  if you wanted to go to a concert etc

hypocritical nonsense.

Those poor, abused kids - they will never know a life without masks. The only human emotions they understand are sadness and fear, visible via the eyes. Remember, these kids are FORCED to wear masks and have been for over 5 years now. This is pure insanity and if you still justify it then you are sick freak.

And some of these kids have had it during their critical period.  They've likely become hard wired to this and will have severe emotional problems for life.

I'd add their vaccination record to the mix.

Edit: Have they given up naming the COVID-19 variants?

I feel sorry for the abused kids who missed out on 2 years on in person school.

They still are missing out on in-person learning. Many schools in Bangkok have reverted back to online teaching.

Reality is it's still a non-severe infection for the vast majority.

The U.S. CDC would say you're wrong:

Per the U.S. CDC, the 2024-2025 COVID vaccine reduced the risk of hospitalization from COVID in seniors age 65 and above by 45-46%, compared with all seniors who had NOT received the 2024-2025 vaccine.

"During September 24, 2023–August 11, 2024, approximately 800,000 COVID-19–associated hospitalizations occurred in the United States (1); adults aged ≥65 years accounted for 70% of these hospitalizations."

"COVID-19 vaccination averted approximately 68,000 hospitalizations during the 2023–24 respiratory season."

Online Classes Resume at Samut Prakan School Amid COVID Surge

Ratchawinit Bangkaeo School in Samut Prakan has shut its doors, opting for online classes from 26 to 28 May. This urgent shift comes in response to a sharp increase in COVID-19 cases, particularly among students.

With the virus on the rise again, school officials are prioritising the health and safety of pupils and staff.

The Department of Disease Control's report for 18-24 May uncovered over 53,000 new COVID infections nationwide, with roughly 2,800 hospitalised cases and five fatalities. Nationwide, this year's COVID case count has soared beyond 187,000.

Bangkok is leading the tally with 9,575 new cases, followed closely by Chonburi. High infection rates were found among working adults, the elderly, and young children.

Dr. Jirraruj Chomchey, a pediatric respiratory expert, has taken to Facebook, disclosing alarming trends in child COVID cases since schools reopened two weeks ago. Shockingly, COVID-19 is now the top ailment affecting children, with infants under one being critically vulnerable and often needing hospital care.

Adding to the woes, Dr. Jirraruj has identified a spike in seasonal illnesses coinciding with the rainy season, including croup, influenza B, and respiratory syncytial virus (RSV).

He forecasts these will multiply in the coming fortnight, presenting a tough battle for very young kids already at risk. The combination of ongoing COVID-19 and other viruses sets a daunting hurdle for hospitals bracing to meet the demands of the vulnerable.

Closing schools stops children spreading the infection by reducing the chances of them getting infected. This in turn reduces the growth of natural immunity in the community. Closing schools was and is a massive reactionary move that's not scientifically based.
