Rising anti-Indian sentiment

I had rarely visited Soi 6 when living in Pattya, but when I did, the shear numbers of Indians there was a big turn off. Why you might ask?

Looking at the large number of Indian punters I'd ask myself. Do you really want to go where that guy has been?  Simple answer: hell no.

Especially when hanging out in a bar or two with Indian men they always makes you aware that their attitude toward hygiene (daily showering and regularly washing clothes etc) is very bad. They most always reek. Makes you wonder just how much they think about STD's etc.

I don't have anything against Indian people, but when it comes to messing around with women that they've been with (and most of you punters too) I don't want em'

Steer clear. Makes me nauseous thinking about all the crumby punters these girls have been with.

Seems you are a better quality punter

Some people are just racist and jump on the bandwagon, I don't have a problem with Indians except their poor walking etiquette in Pattaya

It may not even be about being bad tourists but just offensive by their mere presence. Thais or Europeans don't visit India and would never retire there. Why is that? Indians want to live in our countries but we avoid their country.

I've lived in India and I've been there quite a few times, some visits as long as 6 months, and I can tell you from first-hand experience it's an extraordinary country, with really outstanding people, some of them quite brilliant, very accomplished, very curious about life, warm, friendly and kind. I highly recommend a visit to India as the culture is incredibly rich.

Having said that traveling to India is not for the faint at heart.

You don't do self awareness or hypocrisy, do you.

You're confused because you hold the magical belief that all groups of people are the same. Once you understand this is false it will make more sense.

North Lampang. Not extreme, it’s the norm here as with just about every Thai I’ve known. How long have you been here anyway? Or do you not get out much and converse with the locals? That’s also a normal thing here with farangs, I know guys here only communicate with one Thai, their spouse.

I've never mixed with the locals wherever I lived.

And I only ever speak with fellow Brits from the south of England.

(woman in my bed excluded, don't talk to them much either)

I visited Krabi for the first time last year (Ao Nang) and this was the first time I saw the big numbers of Indians.

Was in Ao Nang 10 days ago & I’ve never seen so many Indian restaurants in 1 place (except when I spent 18 months working in Mumbai), really struggled to find somewhere to eat as although I really like Indian food, it’s not something I’d eat regularly + the GF is (quite rightly) wary about getting Thai food from a non-Thai restaurant.

As an aside we’d been to visit her family in Hat Yai & Satun before that & I honestly though I was back in Malaysia when I went into Satun central, >90% of the females were wearing headscarves.

Yup. 50% Indian, 50% Russian. 100% tourist trap. Damn shame since those rock formations were very lovely.

Just add to the dog-pile of I Hate Russians, Chinese, Nigerians, Middle Easterners, Yanks, Iranians, Indians.

Maybe because they still have the bubonic plague there?

It can't be the food, as it's delicious.

Probably because their women aren't attractive to us

Apart from Deepika Padukone.

I did actually get my Thai wife to overcome her prejudice against Indian food (said it was smelly) and now she loves it, especially the lamb.

I'm not making any rules and saying we can come to Thailand and they can't, I'm just observing the incompatibilities and peoples negative opinions of them on social media.

My boss my boss is a first generation Indian American and his girlfriend is Indian too. She's very cute actually. I think they age really poorly from what I can tell though. These are both very light skinned Indians though so not the typical Indian look.

I don't know what it is with Thai girls, you can't drag them screaming to an Indian restaurant. It's bizarre.

Same with my gf, tried twice. Doesn't like Indian.

Have you actually witnessed this? I have seen impoverished children doing that in India. No access to bathrooms. But here? Really?

Mine loves Indian. And we have been to India together, and she loved it too. An open mind is a beautiful thing.

I’ve seen grown men p1ssing on the side of the road & taking a <deleted> on Juhu beach so it’s a real thing in India.

Seems they’ve exported it to Thailand as well https://timesofindia.indiatimes.com/life-style/travel/news/indian-tourists-urinating-on-pattaya-beach-this-is-what-actually-happened/articleshow/117454745.cms

seems the topic is sponsored by EU members... 😆 🤣 😂 😹

But I don't see much bad Indians... barring few ... but that goes for tourists of every country in Thailand. All have ️ and ️...   the indians clubs in Pattaya are jam packed with Guests and all charming looking Thai and non thai women. I dont see any rising anti Indian sentiment in Thailand... but I have definitely seen anti Aussie sentiments in Bali, anti old farang pedophiles sentiments in Thailand and Cambodia... and in Vietnam no one gives a hoot on bases of country...

I've largely not experienced the recent Indian tourists since I live in the north and outside any tourist areas but I'm seeing patterns reading comments on social media and YouTube, especially Thailand rated content but just general politics across in English speaking countries. People seem universally not happy about this is the least you can say.

I visited Krabi for the first time last year (Ao Nang) and this was the first time I saw the big numbers of Indians. Nothing bad happened but it was overwhelming. I tried them out once but I'm never going back to any of the popular islands down south for all sorts of reason, Indians being just one of them.

Here is one such example. Just read the comments. Indians are largely incompatible with Europeans and will displace existing tourists when they come in large numbers. I've known Thai's personally to be repulsed by Indians in particular so they must be none so pleased too as well. How they're being received by the millions in Western countries is whole other topic but largely follows the same theme.

Not sure how Thailand will cope with this but it's going to be interesting. I'm sure people living in the areas they visit like Pattaya or Phuket will have similar things to say.

I agree! Indians can be so annoying...behave like m*****! ...like the Chinese also can be...especially if they are close to a buffet! Lol! Then you better stay clear! 🤣

What a load of bull manure. Especially that video, what was that all about? Talking about Indians making incorrect accusations against a backdrop of normal Thai life. The screenshot that shows the video is not Indians sleeping on the beach, it's a number of nationalities after the countdown in Pattaya this year, which was cleaned up shortly after. Whilst not a lover of some of the Indian people's behaviour it is exaggerated because nowadays there are more Indians visiting since visa regulations were eased.

Misleading tripe.

1. The video doesn't include any images such as the badly composited one it uses as a placeholder (see above).
2. The entire eight minute video just shows empty Thai streets with a droning AI voiceover moaning about Indians.
3. There is not a single Indian in the entire 8 minute video.

The image above (which, again, does NOT appear in the video) is not even showing Indians. Not even tourists. And it is another bad composite. They were migrant workers from neighbouring countries that set up camp on the beach for ONE NIGHT whilst awaiting transportation to work sites in Bangkok and elsewhere. And yes, they left it in a filthy state. But they were not Indian tourists.

When a video goes that far out of its way to mislead people what should we infer about their intentions?

The same channel has another scaremongering one called "It Begins... Indians Moving Into Thailand's Cities" showing a badly composited picture of tons of people packing Thai streets. Watch the video and the entire thing shows an empty bridge and a completely empty Benjakitti Forest Park, again with an anti-Indian droning AI voiceover, for the entire eight minutes.

The holding page, and images from the two videos. Spot the difference.

Seems you are very easily taken in. I wonder why? Did you even watch the video you linked to??

And did anyone else commenting even look at the video? Watch it for ten seconds and it is obvious it is racist tripe because nothing they talk about - or show in the thumbnails - appears in the videos. Nothing.

It's not only me then!

I think it is only you and me that bothered to investigate by watching it - and I include the OP in that. Everyone else just piles in with their prejudices...

I don't see the op as some sort of racist hater though, thought he just posted the wrong video, or something like that.

I've always been strongly anti-Indian, because of their near complete lack of manners and personal hygiene - wherever I've encountered them.

Their country basically resembles a giant rubbish dump, and it's surprising that those who venture out seem to be determined to turn other countries into the same kind of mess instead of enjoying a break from it. Strange.
