I found the English series 'In the line of duty' to be very interesting when I watched it a couple of years ago.

This is obviously the thread for grand granddads ?😂

  • I remember watching the Bill when it started. The one I really looked forward to every week though was Hill Street Blues. That show could make you laugh and almost cry in the same episode.

  • Frost was brilliant.   David Jason had a remarkable range as an actor : Granville, Del Boy Trotter and Inspector Jack Frost.   Morse required one to really concentrate, but again w

Z Cars - for the music; Maybe not as good as the Hawai 5 Nil theme, though.

Lewis? I think that was the black detective ?

Also they are now showing a Northern Ireland police drama I'm getting into ....I think called Blue Lights if anyone is interested

No it was Morse' partner played by Kevin Whatley who got his own show.

oh wait...

All episodes of CHiPs used a few miles of the Foothill Fwy in Glendale which was awaiting opening and a handful of vehicles. A doco on YouTube shows the filming - hasn’t aged well at all😯

Both series of Blue Lights were brilliant.

Law and Order was banned by the BBC by the writer who also wrote The Nations Health, which got very high ratings before being taken down. All by G F Newman. Law and Order by the latter has just surfaced on BBC IPLAYER.  Absolutely brilliant.  A 1978 production which is a must for anyone who likes tough cop shows. GF Newman also wrote books and did a Radio drama spanning generations from posts WW2 to late 80s called The Corrupted. All his work in any medium is brilliant.

That;'s the end of it.

My daughter took up the double bass at school and it was tremendously inconvenient. "And its boring:" so i played her this, and the school phoned a social worker.

I bullied my son into playing the Z Cars theme on his flute (I couldn't persuade my mate Danny to throw stones at him while he was marching, so I thought it was the best next thing) and the social worker came round again.  I think she fancies me.

Youtube pointed me towards the original, and I can see why the school called social services.
