Why do so many posters continually diss other posters?

I see this in the forums all the time .........

Posters looking down on guys living in Pattaya, elderly, guys living on a pension, living in a rented condo, supporting a woman and her family, men spending time in bars, or smoking weed/tobacco, etc.

Why not just enjoy your own life and stop looking for fault or judging other people?

Can we at least be allowed to make good fun of others home country.  Always good fun.

Ok, let´s sort it out, right?

Looking down on people living in Pattaya: I think that is wrong. What most posters here say is bad things about the city, all the bad elements and the rising criminality. Not looking down on regular people living there, more than state that we can´t understand how people chose to liv there. But that´s only our opinion, and not looking down on anyone.

Elderly guys living on pension. Who is looking down on that? It´s just regular retired people. When we look down on something, it´s more like we see to the economy, and find out that there are quite many who have moved to Thailand with not enough money. That´s a very stupid thing to do! That, does not mean it´s wrong to live on pension.

Looking down on people living in a rented condo??? Where have you seen that?

Supporting a woman and her family. Posters here are not looking down on people doing that in general. What some are looking down on, is when we read stories of huge amounts. That´s basically to make a person wake up before it´s too late. After that, we all have different opinions, and are free to express our opinions. That´s not looking down on all people in a genre. It´s focusing on specific threads and specific cases.

After that, spending time in bars or smoking. Also here, not looking down, but expressing our opinion.

You know, all the above, is things people do in a forum. It´s called general discussions.

I like the way Brits make fun of each others cities. Leeds folks are barely human, Welsh are sheep shaggers, Scousers, etc

I think Nietzsche explains this best. People take pleasure in hurting and torturing others. He was talking about women, but it applies across the board. There is a certain pleasure for those who inflict pain.

It's just the way it is.

Westerners are like that.

Do you mean ALL Westerners?

Compared with Australians, Thailand is West, as is India etc. The UK is East of USA!

Went to Pattaya a while ago and most of the single old men walking around looked like their Mother and Dog had just died. I also see that in many Expats in other places too - not so many is one spot though.  I think they are just unhappy and grumpy - glad I will never be that way - enjoy life I say, before you know it one day .............

I think it's a little bit of jealousy.

From the guys that can't go shagging around,  like a lot of the old guys do here in pattaya.

Good luck to  the old boys,  with a fist full of Viagra starting at the top of Soi 6 on a Tuesday afternoon.

As a Brit I find most American posters have a lack of sense of humour. We Brits can laugh about anything and we don't generally take things personal or attack fellow members or throw out insults because some poster has posted on threads they don't like or feel they are being attacked.

There are a few in particular. They always make it personal. @Harrisfan and @Yagoda are two examples of the worst of this forum.

Many of us can discuss politics without necessarily hating people for the choices that they make. Yes I do hate Trump, yes I have zero respect for the man, but I understand why people voted for him, and I respect Trump supporters as fellow human beings, and there's no reason to make this personal, yet some feel the need to descend to the same level as their master.

I truly believe that the greatest act of patriotism is to criticize Trump, his astonishing ignorance, and his willingness to make America very irrelevant.

But @Yagoda is a great guy!

I don't think I've ever heard him pontificating on fine wine, foodie restaurants, museums or any other pretentious elitist nonsense.

And @Harrisfan seems like a decent enough bloke, but hasn't been posting long enough for me to form any solid view.

But now you're dissing pretentious people.

And I've done it myself numerous times on here.

But point is ... it's impossible to not diss ever.

We all do it.

Well I dont fully agree - but unlike those with the more severe second bout of <removed>, at least he does not make it all about Trump.  I sometimes wonder if they know how close they are to being gender studies women?  They use their cognitive bias and blame men Trump for everything !!
