Yrs, and the Cambodian people living  on that border are going nuts, because they usually cross into Thailand to buy produce  which they take back into Cambodia to sell to the Cambodian people. Talking about tons of Veg, pork, beef, chiken, and fruit every day.

The same here on this side. We used to cross over to buy veggies, garlic and fruits, bulk, cheaper than here.

IIRC didn't Cambodia suggest the ICJ and Thailand refused, that would be a bit fishy IMHO

Thailand to Become First Export Customer of China’s QBZ-195T Rifles

In Soi Dao much further south, people near the border have been told the military is coming to evacuate the elderly and the children on Tuesday. Males under 46 have to stay. I reckon this government is weak and yes, lot of posturing and egos, are we being set up for martial law in these areas or ?

Most interesting aspect from a corner unknown to me. Could you elaborate on that theory; why would the red brethren in the North squeeze the puppet state ?

Damn ... that sub sure would come in handy now :coffee1:

Khmer temples go as far as Kanchanaburi.

Hopefully they can regain all of that territory. 🙂

And Mosques go as far as the whole of UK.

Maybe French colonizers shouldn't have decided where the borders were in Cambodia without checking with it's neighbors first. Now the ICJ owned by the colonizers is siding with what France decided the borders were/are, nice. This is what happens when nations try and colonize countries and decide what the rules and laws are, then leave a mess in their wake when they leave, or are pushed out.

The Americans left behind obesity and Shakeys Pizza when they left their Philippines colony.

Both countries have acknowledged the ICJ, but Thailand has never formally agreed to abide by its rulings nor enforce them (extradition requests, boundary disputes, etc.) but Cambodia has agreed to enforce ICJ 'mandatory' rulings and actions.

The USA, Israel and many other countries also follow this road - acknowledge the court but not its rulings. Even Canada only agreed to ICJ's so-called mandatory rulings quite recently.

They can't prevent a bunch of taxi drivers holding the airport hostage (if the choose to) so good luck fighting an army.

This was a surprise, anyone tried to cross the border today?

Cambodia is no match for Thailand, military equipment is far superior, One general in Thailand has 74,000 troops at the ready,

Cambodia only has T-55 tanks if they are working,

My wife says they've got no chance, My friend in Buriram says she will send her mother to negotiate with them

Aranyaprathet/Poipet is open today but absolutely mobbed. Lots of people were  stuck on both sides ovetnight due to sudden closure yesterday without advancd notice.

Unclrar if it will be open tomorrow or if today's opening was just to address that immediate  situation.
