That's perfect. Next you can join the contest in TV show: The biggest loser (in case you want to lose weight)

Visited a goat cafe

I am intrigued.

Are they the owners, servers, chefs or is that all there is on the menu?

Yea, I passed on the Louvre when in Paris.  Amsterdam was awesome though, Van Gough museum & Rijksmuseum.

Philly, PA, USA had decent museum, and Barnes foundation (private collection) was pretty good.  Mexico City had decent ones also.  All 30+ years ago (except AMS), and never had wait, or silly prices they charge now.

Back in my chuffing days I used to visit Amsterdam once per month for some high quality smoke when it wasn't in such abundance in the UK. I worked in the City then so would get a flight from City airport straight after work on a Friday evening then fly back either Sunday evening or first thing Monday morning and head straight to work. Been in excess of 150 times. Absolutely love Amsterdam.

Used to get stoned on some high grade skunk then hit a few of the museums and chill out in Vondelpark. When the munchies kicked in would visit a FEBO for their vending machine snacks. Bitterballen, Frikandelbroojde etc.

Hit the Warmoesstraat in the evening for a bit of nocturnal activity. After a ten year hiatus, I have provisionally booked myself a long weekend in January 2026. Only booked the hotel so far which I can cancel without charge so I will see nearer the time whether my old(ish) bones are still up to the task.

It's like cat cafe, but with, erm, goats.

The young goats bounce around while you feed grass to the mother goats.

I am online a lot, so on this site a lot.

I am not that busy.

Mostly taking it easy because I am recovering from a burnout / nervous breakdown.

Hope you get better

Thank you. That clarifies the situation. Don't suppose they have curried goat on the menu? I love a bit of curried goat. Some fantastic places to get that in London, mainly south of the river.

My friends live in the west. What do you do? You seem like a monger.

You provided your own answer in the OP.  Your personality is missing the most important boredom fighting ingredient.

boredom can be a good drive to get things done, and start new projects as well new activities, but at one point, I guess it comes to an end as well.

Boredom is luxury for some if you are healthy and wealthy, for others it is a curse.

It's a realistic view of most regional cities. Most young people go to Bangkok for work and more activities. Same in the west. Country folks head to city for more opportunities.

So what do you expect when living in a regional city or rural districts?

what do people want?

Finding new friends after a certain age is difficult enough back home if you not connected through work, family, politics or activities.

Moving to Thailand, and be bored after awhile after the pink tinted glasses fades is the most common thing for most.

Why do you think the forum members drink and smoke to much? Happiness or boredom?

English guys maybe better off, because they do have a pub culture where they come from, playing pool, darts and just chit chat for hours. And to be true, it’s impressive how they manage to find that entertaining week after week, year after year

Interested to hear what pulls you through the days here, and being bored after awhile?

eh.  depends on what on is looking for.  I enjoy walking, eating at local places, daily foot or oil massages.  Swimming in hotel pool on hot days.  Catching a movie now and then, Thai or English.  Some night life.  Travel to another part of the country.  Karon beach.  National parks, nong nooch garden.  Hook up with a nice lady and.. well

Sounds good, but there is an end to the excitement doing that over and over again and again.

The best thing is to accept life is boring, create daily healthy routines and have discipline. That’s it,
