Khor Ror 2 with new passport

Featured Replies

Hi, everyone!

Anyone with experience updating the passport number on their Khor Ror 2. Is it gonna be a problem when I apply for extension based on marriage if Khor Ror 2 has my old passport number. If yes, what's the procedure to update it?

Thank you so much!

Take the old passport just in case.

There's no need (or way) to update the passport information for the foreigner.

Take your passport and the wife's ID card (or a copy), as the latter will not have changed, and they can find the marriage record easily.

If your local amphur doesn't accept the above, take the wife AND her ID card.

Sorted.

We've had about 6 or 7 Khor Ror 2s since renewing my passport. It's never been a problem.

In fact I hadn't even noticed that my passport number was on it!

There's no need for you to be involved at all. I just sit there and play sudoku. (and smile at the pretties!)

True. One's wife can do it while you sit at home playing sudoku or at the mall, watching the pretties.

However, just as some members seem to be joined at the hip with their Thai partners, other members like to do as much DIY as they can get, including dealing with government offices, banks, etc..

No I don't sit at home playing sudoku, I sit in the Amphur. I'm always there just in case, but I've never been needed.

I raised this matter 2 years ago when I went with the boss to the Ampeu to obtain an up to date KR22, the clerk shrugged and said no need. I have obtained 2 extensions since and Immigration (CM) has not commented.
