In the Isaan province of Surin, a Thai man has confessed to murdering his transgender neighbour, 63-year-old Pratheep Kongthawee, allegedly under the influence of a Cambodian acquaintance. The crime came to light on June 4 when a 15-year-old boy discovered Pratheep’s body, concealed beneath a red blanket in his home, with a fatal stab wound to the neck.

Pratheep, known for wearing gold accessories valued over one million baht, was found with most of these items missing, except for a single gold necklace still around his neck. This led police to suspect theft as a motive.

Initial investigations focused on the boy and three other men connected to Pratheep, either through past relationships or debts, yet these inquiries revealed no links to the crime.

Attention then turned to Pratheep’s neighbour, 58-year-old Saengchan Kingkanna, who had a history of borrowing money and gold from Pratheep to fuel his gambling habits. Suspicion grew when Saengchan failed to attend the funeral and vanished from the community on June 8, also quitting his job as a chauffeur at a local vocational college. His wife claimed ignorance of his whereabouts.

Police efforts to track Saengchan included examining CCTV footage, which showed him boarding a coach from Surin to Mukdahan on June 13. Although this provided a lead, officers struggled initially to locate him.

As the investigation continues, the police are working to uncover the full circumstances surrounding the crime and to apprehend any additional individuals involved.

This had nothing to do with the victim being trans.  So mentionimg that is irrelevant.

The murderer was a degenerate gambler and probable thief.

Looks like he fled to Cambodia .

Via Mukdahan?  Odd route to take.

They would have been looking for him at the Cambodian border crossings

If a man or a woman had been murdered instead of a tranny, the article would have still mentioned that 'a man (or woman) was murdered'. So I do not see your point.

You know tranny really isn't used anymore right ?

My point is most times in stories like this transgender is the root of the reason. Here it plays no part.
