I've been swimming, noticed one ear is not working properly.

Where to go to get ears cleaned and cost in Pattaya?

Clinic using syringe a couple of hundred baht or are there other options?

I once did this method of filling ear with some liquid in Pattaya.

Lay on the side for a while, strange bubble sounds.

Finally washing all out.

Have to be careful when standing up, strong dizziness/vertigo.

Up here at the local ear clinic.

Suck it out with a medical device, loud noise and out it is.

Enjoy looking at the lump

Much quicker and close to no risk.

Never let the barber at your ear.

Had a whole day of pain in the ear.

I went to a doctor with a wax build up problem, he said they are reluctant to syringe nowadays because of the risk of damage. Just given drops, which worked. Now you can see clear through from one side to the other.

Maybe try sleeping on the affected side, it may drain out.

Pipe cleaners and use a wet wipe as a pull through then!

You will need to put an ear wax solution in for a few days before hand if you want a proper clean out, it will help soften the wax, this I use to do back in AU before visiting a doctor, here I do it myself, the pharmacy's here do sell an instrument designed for squirting warm water into the ear.

Hundreds of Baht for 1 syringe? Really?

A metal paperclip, folded open to create two opposing loops, works fine.  Use the larger loop as a handle and the smaller loop to insert in the ear.

This assumes you are controlling it yourself and has the advantage that you can feel it so you're not going to insert it too far.

The best is ENT Dr Apachai clinic on Pattaya 3rd road, he uses a vacuum. Around 800 baht, check googlemaps

Let me tell you that I avoid that treatment like the plague, during the draining they at some point reach the eardrum, my experience is such that I become unconscious, so NO not recommended for everyone.
The old-fashioned method of squirting water in your ears is best for me.

Have bad experience with that too, even my doctor came up with that, it only made it worse, so not applicable to everyone either.

Did you loosen the wax first using drops or olive oil?

mine was painless when vacuumed, Dr asked if it was painful before he started, maybe if it was he'd recommend antibiotics first

No, they did not ask me that, I am talking about 15 years ago, tried it 2 times in different hospitals with a long period in between and 2 times the same experience.
But now I have found a doctor who sprays it out with warm water and yes did drip some oil first for 2 nights with the desired result.

You could use something like this: Bebird EarSight There are cheaper models too of this company (they work, I know because I have one). If I see my ear is clogged, I use hydrogen peroxide to loosen the wax, then use a syringe with a special top like this:  Earwash with warm water to get it out. Possible leftover is scooped out with the Bebird.

ok 15 years ago they didn't use vacuum treatment, most likely a syringe which can hurt

Irrigation and suction is more common now in the U.K. ,nhs no longer do ear cleaning so you have to use private companies who specialise in ear cleaning

i have a bebird which i use every month to try to minimise wax, I've also seen on youtube a water pick which is usually for teeth, used for wax removal on weakest setting, I've not tried it but may work but need to be ultra cautious

I used to go to the hospital every 1 or 2 years  to get ear wax cleaned out of my ears. The last bill in my local private hospital was 1,600 Baht, which made me decide to buy an ear syringe and do it by myself. I fill the ear syringe with clean tempered water and do it during my shower, so it's easy to flush the ear wax down the drain. Ear syringes can be bought in the pharmacy or online for a few Baht, but before you start doing it, you better be 100% sure, that you don't have a different ear problem. The Hydrogen Peroxide solution didn't work for me, but if you should decide to try it, make sure that you do not use a stronger solution than 3%.

i have an electric ear water pump from lazada.  it pulses the water into the ear though a small nozzle

hydrogen peroxide first, then use the pump.  it works well, but after reading this i will be cautious re pumping the water against the ear drum

i used suction before but the clinic who did it were a bit rough and i found it quite painful

the satisfaction of seeing wax in the sink is awesome after pumping  🙂

Was that a single application of drops or several applications of drops on following days.

is that ear water pump similar to water picks for teeth?

also, you mention suction, that was probably a water syringe? using a vacuum is much better

I get my ears cleaned every 2-3 years using vacuum. The curling is very satisfying as your heating improves immediately.

In Bangkok it cost 900 baby at my local hospital by a doctor that speaks English.

May I advise you to use clean drinking water in any case.
A few months ago I thought it was no big deal to use water from the tap, resulting in a severe middle ear infection.
Regarding that electric water pump from Lazada, I am curious about that.

2004 , left ear closed , after swimming.

Philippines, doctor in mall saw , took syringe and blew out ear. 7euro

Ah , it worked , I could hear again.

Now I use these for cleaning, just by manual.

Beginning it is weird but when you do some times , no problem, works.

Im happy with it. When putting it in, rotate at the same time, mind the rotation arrow.
