Assume Savannakhet?

Thats 20+ hr return.

Are you serious.

It might be Chong Mek.

That would be a bit closer from Pattaya and make sense if avoiding an overnight stay in Laos.

Okay boyz and squirrellz this is what it's looking like (at least from Bangkok)    As of now, every border in Cambodia is closed to foot traffic for foreigners to bounce out/back at. That's bec

The chickens are coming home to roost now. No convenient land border hops for most, only a long expensive journey or flights plus bribe to corrupt officials.   I think I'll contact the Briti

I found some companies who make border run to Laos from Pattaya.

One of them 9,5k: including Laos visa and one night hotel in Laos.
Another one 6,5k: go and come back in the same day (no hotel).

I see is a long way from Pattaya but I prefer to do it in one single day I think.

which on is for 6.5k? Do you have the name of the agency?

Is the 'Border Run by AIR' done by van from Nakhon Phanom? 😆

No they have a nice car pick you up at the airport take you to the border and bring you back

That's what I meant; the airport is in Nakhon Pathom, and from there they take one to the border?

Yes. They take you to the border, across the border, and back to the same airport once you're done. I can see quite a few takers for this, that van ride from Bangkok to Mukdahan and back is one helluva long road trip.

Phanom.

not Pathom.

Oh, there's a big difference

Jeez what a nightmare. I've only just heard of this border crisis and I've got a train to Surin booked and hotels paid for in Siem Reap next week.

This country's a pain in the ass to live in with all the constant flip flopping they do with everything.

Fly

I heard they blocked that too.

But regardless, I'm just weighing up my options. I might extend my visa because I'm leaving in 3 weeks anyway.

If you haven't at this point obtained a 30 day extension then that's an option.

Flights to and from Cambodia no problem.

Yeah, just looking into it all. I can cancel the room for free in Siem Reap and if I save the $30 visa to Cambodge

and all the travel costs, an extension here works out cheaper.

Yeah, true. My mistake; after autocorrect changed 'Phanom' into 'Phantom', I must have mixed up both place names... 😆

Could also overnight VIP bus and sleep both ways, which is 100x better than cramped in a van - then, meet the agents near the border.

I would also suggest your own transport for the Cambodia runs, when those re-start - no need to start the ride at 4-5 AM.

If a thai friend wants to come with me, is it going to pay extra for her?

I would imagine that they would charge, most services charge more when you have a "tag-along-thai" or a "thai-in-tow" on a border bounce

I'd say just bounce on your own and take your Thai friend another time.

Probably the best line I'm going to read on here today. 😂
