Entertainment Thailand's Tourism Set for a Boost with Jurassic Film Release

Thailand is gearing up for a tourism surge following the global release of "Jurassic World: Rebirth," a major Hollywood film showcasing the nation’s stunning landscapes.

 

Premiering in major cities like London and New York, the film prominently features Thailand's breathtaking locations, including Krabi, Phang Nga, and Trang. This cinematic exposure is anticipated to draw global tourists keen to explore these picturesque settings firsthand.

 

Chatuporn Pakdeewanich, Director General of the Thai Department of Tourism, highlighted the economic impact of the film’s production. "The film selected Thailand for its beautiful scenery, contributing significantly to the local economy with investments surpassing 400 million baht (approximately US$12.2 million)."

 

The production employed over 2,245 Thai workers, from crew members to local service providers, boosting local employment. This is one of the largest-budget foreign films shot in Thailand, further enhancing the country's image on the international stage.

 

 

The Thai government’s incentive schemes, offering financial rebates to foreign film projects, have played a crucial role. These policies aim to stimulate both the film and tourism sectors, generating economic benefits across various levels.

 

The international release of "Jurassic World: Rebirth" on July 2 promises to showcase Thailand's seascapes and jungles, potentially inspiring travellers worldwide. The combination of cinematic appeal and natural beauty positions Thailand as an attractive destination.

TAT is really clueless. To think a movie that will be made mostly using AI of dinosaurs wil increase tourism simply because it displays some of Thailands landscape is ridiculous. I can see it now, Thousands of UK citizens rushing to buy tickets to Thailand after seeing the movie haha...

Also, I fail to see how the making of a movie increases local employment? Most of the crew for the movie was imported. And any work given to locals would have been temporary. Not a real job.

A TAT spokesman has confirmed a large percentage of Chinese tourists have shown an interest in areas this was filmed and are confident 15 million could come to visit the Attractions and film sets bringing upto 20 billion tbt in revenue for the kingdom.

Some of the extras included Prayut as a Grumposaur, Prawit as a Sleeposaur, Anutin as a Weirdosaur and Thaksin as Daddyosaur. It's a family movie.

The only thing breathtaking about those locations are the sheer number of Indians and Russians.
